《太阳总在左边》是一部不依靠对话叙事而是靠风景和远景,将观众处于旁观者角度观看的影片。整部影片简单而有深度,因采用的是业余演员,所以全片拥有十分自然的风格。
这部影片描述了一段自我发现的旅程,主人公尼玛一出现就将一辆摩托车推下悬崖,通过一系列闪回的前后穿插讲述发生的事,让我们感受到他是在进行一段充满罪恶感的旅程。母亲被碾压而死,尼玛无法抑制内心的悲痛和自责,带着有母亲血迹的一把黄土朝拜拉萨。在途中,一位和他一样空虚失落但十分执着的老者与他一起互相勉励,互相影响,同时也互相救赎。尼玛经历了心灵的体验,重新找回了生存的勇气。在这段探寻迷茫生活和落魄心灵之路上,他懂得了真正的生存价值。本部影片十分具有现实意义,讲述的民藏族文化心态的精神故事同时,也表达了藏人面对悲欢离合和死亡时的处事态度。
The Sun-beaten Path is a film that depends on landscapes and distant views instead of dialogues to narrate letting spectators to appreciate from the observer perspective.
The film presents a journey of self-discovery. As soon as the leading actor Ma Ni appears on the scene, he pushes a motorcycle down the cliff. The plot develops by a series of flashbacks, which let spectators experience a journey full of guilt that the leading actor is conducting. Ma Ni is unable to restrain the feeling of sadness and self-accusation in that his mother died from being run over by the motorcycle, so he begins pilgrimage to Lhasa with a handful of loess smeared with his mother’s blood. During the journey, an old man who also feels empty and lost but is still clinging encourages, affects on as well as redeems him mutually. Ma Ni gets a spiritual experience regaining the courage for survival. He recognizes the true survival values during this journey of seeking confusions in life and broken-down soul. The film has extremely a realistic meaning, not only telling about a spiritual story on Tibetan cultural attitudes but also showing the Tibetan’s attitudes when facing the sorrow, happiness and death.
