             我已在佛前求了五百年 I’d been praying before the Buddha for half a century
             求佛让我们结一段尘缘 May this worldly affinity be true
             佛於是把我化做一棵树 So the Buddha turned me into a tree
             长在你必经的路旁 Growing in the path of thy way
             阳光下 Carefully, fully blooming the tree
             慎重地开满了花 And in the sun
             朵朵都是我前世的盼望 Every flower is my earnest pray of yesterday
             当你走近 When thou are stepping closely
             请你细听 Please listen respectfully
             那颤抖的叶 That trembling foliage
             是我等待的热情 Is the zeal of my waiting
             而当你终於无视地走过 At length thou are passing by without hearing
             在你身后落了一地的 Oh, my love
             朋友啊 They are not petals
             那不是花瓣 But all my withering heart
             那是我凋零的心 Paving the earth at the back of the thee.
