Taking Pictures
Work is one thing, leisure is another. a camera like an DSLR is no good if it's sitting at your dry box at home; what is important is that you are producing stuff, that with an iphone, or even a lego camera. -Kai W
I have just watched a series of videos posted by Kai. Well, I have to say, even though he doesn’t live tourists from mainland China, I can’t say I don’t like this guy, especially when his videos always come with extraordinarily high quality. I first watched his video because I wanted to know something about the Nikon DX 35mm 1.8G lens. I was a little bit surprised about his British accent. I thought he might had been well educated in HK. Anyway, that video is nice as well. So I decided to purchase the lens.
What he said above is from the video in the series “pro photographers, cheap cameras”. I always believe camera is just a tool. Only the guys with sharpest eyes and fastest actions can take the best pictures. I don’t really like landscape photography, because which requires a lot of money, (or investment if we are professional ), and which requires to be there. I like the normal street shootings, without anything prepared. Those pictures will give us a fresh feeling.
The other thing is the hesitation of whether I should purchase the 85mm (the one I use to use) right now. The answer is always no, because the f/1.8 is already good in many situations. The 70-200 is great, the 85 1.4 is great as well, but the problem is now that I feel I don’t have any inspiration (is that because no cats around?). Maybe Sydney is such a new place to me, and I was a little bit worried about my courses, so that I don’t have enough time and motivation to move around and take some photos. But however, today when I was jogging I found the sunset on the railway is breathlessly beautiful. I think I will shoot some pictures tomorrow over there.
