日軍記事一則 (古德明)

                
                
A Japanese soldier attended a special training course during World War II:
"When we learned that we were to man the human torpedoes, we became alarmed. A cadet who tried to desert was placed under military arrest. There seemed to be no way any of us would return alive.
"The headquarters office, which consisted of those who had managed to avoid becoming human torpedoes, was overrun by toadying men. The commanding officer entertained women in his office. I was punished for questioning one of his women when I was on night guard duty. The area outside the barracks had been burned out by air raids and was full of hovels and starving people, but within the barracks we saw the gluttony of the superior officers."
第二次世界大戰期間，一個日本士兵參加特別訓練課程：
「我們發覺要負責操縱人魚雷，都吃了一驚。一個學員想潛逃，遭軍事拘捕了。我們似乎沒有活着回去的機會。
「總部辦事處滿是諂媚之徒，他們都得免做人魚雷。司令官有女人到他的辦公室交歡。我負責守 衞時，曾查問他的一個女人，結果遭受處分。營房之外，是空襲下燒毀的土地，處處都有簡陋的房屋、飢餓的百姓；但營房之內，我們卻看見高級軍官食前方丈。」
