【英文摘要】The article starts from analyzing risks in international trade, expounds the concept, classification, feature, function of export credit insurance, and difference and relation between export insurance, export credit, export insurance and settlement and commercial insurance; thereupon the article emphasizes studies on two aspects. 1) Study on operation modes of export insurance: firstly it introduces the operation modes of four kinds of export insurance, mode directly handled by government, mode handled by the whole-capital subsidiary set up by the government, mode handled by government through share-holding and mode handled by private-run institutions entrusted by the government; secondly it concludes their five commonness through the difference in the operation modes of these four export credit insurance; and finally, as required by international cooperation, the article introduces international credit, the foundation, nature, function of investment insurer association, as well as the membership of PICC. 2) Study on operation principle of export credit insurance. It firstly expounds basic insurance principles: principle of maximum credit, principle of insurance profit, principle of loss compensation; Principle of immediate cause suits export credit insurance, it emphasizes the special principle of export credit, that is principle of risk partaking; principle of insurance premium; principle of purchaser credit limitation application; principle of general insurance; principle of queuing time before compensation; principle of preserving creditor’s right. The last part of the article, through reviewing export credit insurance system in China, brings forward tentative plans to improve our export credit insurance system.
