Megan welcomes me in and out comes Brian, holding Jon in the arms. Somehow I think Jon looks like him.
"There there. You must have missed your mommy." Brian kisses on Jon's forehead and carefully gives him to me. I hold Jon in my arms, feeling his tiny, warm body and his familiar heartbeats. One, two, three. I feel safe when I have him in arms. I kiss his cheek, "Mommy misses ya babe. Were you good this morning? Did you miss mommy?"
Brian gives Jon a stroke on the back. His hand accidentally touches my arm. I shivers a little bit. I raise my head and look at him. Brian is still young. I guess 20something means you wouldn't look any older after 5years' time.
"Ok. Thank you two again. Good day, Megan." I kiss on her right cheek and a nod to Brian, walk out and get back on the street again.
1:00pm.
Jon falls asleep in my arms all the way back home. I always envy him for being able to sleep whenever it's his time to. It's my time to work, yet I don't feel like doing it at all. The taxi driver who drives us back home is a quiet one. His brown eyes reflected in the rearview mirror keep nailing a name into my head.
Brian. Brian. Brian. Brian.
I shake my head slightly, trying to get his face out, but it drills in deeper until I see him again.
He was a sad-looking bartender on midnight shift. I guess it was his gloom that attracted me on that day. I walked up and ordered a glass of water only.
"Excuse me?" He frowned.
"Water. Just bland water please." I repeated.
"Oh. Ok. But we don't serve water here. I...I do have a bottle for myself. Do you mind?"
I grinned, "Not at all."
He passed me his bottled water and I got over the bar and kissed on his lips in no time. And all these somehow became the beginning of an invisible love affair between us two
