没有人是座孤岛，独自一人，
每个人都是一座大陆的一片，
是大地的一部分。
如果一小块泥土被海卷走，
欧洲就是少了一点，
如同一座海岬少一些一样；
任何人的死亡都是对我的缩小，
因为我是处于人类之中；
因此不必去知道丧钟为谁而鸣，
它就是为你而鸣。

entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continent,
a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,

any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind,and, therefore,
