高植译本P12：
谁和她说了话，看见了她说每句话时鲜艳的笑容，和不断地露出来的明亮皓白的牙齿，便以为今晚上他自己是特别可爱。【每个男子都这样想。】
Maude夫妇译本：
All who talked to her, and at each word saw her bright smile and the constant gleam of her white teeth, thought that they were in a specially amiable mood that day.
草婴译本：
谁同她谈过话，看到她说每句话时现出的开朗笑容和不断露出的皓齿，谁就觉得自己今天特别讨人喜欢。【每个男人都有这样的感觉。】

英译本漏句。“今晚”和“今天”。
高植译本P14：
走到沉默的或者说话太多的小团体那里，说一句话，或者把客人调动一下，使谈话的机器【重行】作着不快不慢的正常的运动。
