souls and tolerance

if men have souls, and if men are more than devices, we won’t be able to comprehend ourselves without tolerating the erratic, the uncertain, or the chaotic. tolerance becomes part of the method, the method a contemporary oxymoron. the invitation of tolerance, however, doesn't necessarily call for the mystification of accidents, which abounds in artificial items. and there’s another dimension to the method. what we have to trust probably can’t offer us a sense to hinge ourselves on. which means steep learning curves plus treacherous adaptations. i’ve seen extreme cases in which who have dealt with the devil ain’t got anything.
