Indirect speech

In this lesson, the speaker says, "I've heard that that meat is pretty dry." She is saying something that someone else told her. This is called indirect speech, and is a type of reported speech. 本课中，讲话人说，“I've heard that that meat is pretty dry. (我听说肉很干。 )” 她在转述别人告诉她的话。这种句式被称为间接引语，是一种转述引语。 We use reported speech to tell others what someone else said. There are two types: direct speech(He said, "I'm hungry") and indirect speech (He said that he's hungry). 我们使用转述引语来告诉别人其他人说的话。主要有两种类型：直接引语（他说：“我饿了”）和间接引语（他说他饿了）。 We use indirect speech when the content of what someone said is more important than the exact words.
