Members Medal
After experiencing a very cold and wet start to 2009, in fact the wettest in several decades, we were blessed with a fine day for the years first members Medal Event on 3rd April.
It was also a special event for the reason that the title sponsor PROVOS’s Chairman is a new member to Sheshan, it is wonderful to have members show their support to the clubs Medal events and with PROVOS sponsoring some wonderful prizes, such as notebook computers and hot plate cooking appliances, it was going to be a fiercely fought stroke play event out on the challenging course with a stiff breeze and double hand cut greens reading 10 on the stimp meter.
 
There was a great turnout for the event, with some 96 members entered and prizes to be won for Best Gross, Best Nett and runners up for Men’s Division A and B as well as the Ladies and Guest Divisions, there were also prizes for four Nearest the Pin competitions on all of the courses par 3’s. After the opening Ceremony with some encouraging words from PROVOS Chairman Mr. Gui the battle for the first members trophy in 2009 began.
