babbitt thinks paul is the only person who takes nothing from him but only to be protected. he appreciates paul ,considering him one of the MOST talented people in the world. cuz for babbitt , paul is so different. he plays violin which kinda speaks for his contraditory against the current bussiness siociety. and also more importantly paul is the only person who will never surpass him and always be under him and need him. all these give full satisfaction to babbitt and satisfaction is indeed something he longs to pursuit speaking of someone is so lack of security in all aspects of life.
