电影《蒙古精神》免费放映 [20090718晚8点半]

The screening will start at 8pm but Three Shadows will open its doors at 7pm. Three Shadows will be screening Urga, a film shot in China in 1990 by Nikita Mikhalkov. The story, taking place in the steppes of Mongolia, revolves around love, friendship, cooking mutton and.... condoms. We will say no more and let you discover how all these elements mix together in a brilliant and often humoristic little masterpiece. Urga received The Golden Lion (1st Prize) at the Venice Film Festival (1991), The Best European Film Prize (1993), and was nominated for the Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category (1993). The screening will be followed by a discussion during which key members of the shooting team will talk about their experience in making this film. Is Urga a work of love? Is it about the love for love, friendship or a keen interest in something modesty does not allow us to mention? Or perhaps all of the above? The discussion will also include a brief presentation on "The Man with the Camera" a 1929 silent film by Tziga Vertov that advocated a universal language - through images only.
