Statement of condolence regarding student's death

The U of T Scarborough community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of UTSC student Doris Leung and her family members in Manila, Philippines. We extend our condolences to Miss Leung’s mother, brother, family and friends. Miss Leung was an active member of our community, regularly volunteering to assist at events. She also played in our Concert Band.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will be honouring her memory in a number of ways. The university flag will be flown at half-mast and there will be a memorial service and book of condolence during Orientation festivities in September. We will communicate with students, faculty and staff once details are finalized.

Counseling is being offered for members of our community who knew Miss Leung and need support. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.
