Capernaum in Arabic meams madhouse, ruins.... Thousands of childrem born in Capernaum and have no choice about their fate. As the parents told in court, they said the children complete them and they should not to be blamed though they could not offer a stable and warm childhood to their children. I even could not be angry with this idea because this tragedy happen naturally in a volatile environment.
The confilict comes from different religions and the special position of the area. The person has no identification so no formal training, no regular job, even no space and food. If they could live in a stable life, not to mention discipline, morality or happiniess. Survival is the most important thing. The suffuring lead to angry, which let them treat others in an impolite way.
Children who grows up in this enviroment and have a miserable childhood full of beating, scolding and fearness. They are pushed to grow up in an unreasonable pace. The girl who just go though menarche was sent to marriy with an male dult for food and space. The boy recognized everthing but could save his young sister. He sued his parents, not for blaming, not for lack of food, just for giving life to him and his sisiter. Because this is the root of tradegy.
Although with the help of others, the boy and whole family migrate to Europe to escape from long-term war. How could they adapt to local life and how could the children deal with new life? When they sail there are lolipop and books in the Europe countries, when the boys grab the skateboard from the younger neighbour, when the boy smile for having identity, when the woman engage in a humble job to protect her son but held in police cell and has no way to know the status of her son...
Too many details touch me deeply and even now I could not help crying when I think of the lines and plots. Their stories are filled with rare tenderness and great despair.
May every brave child be treated by the whole world with kindness. May every child who hurted by the world could learn how to love others with warmth.
