翻译：金斯伯格《嚎叫》（第二部分）

这一部分是带有音乐感的朗诵诗，排比句非常有气势，很适合吟唱或者在公共场合宣读。诗歌大部分在描述“火神”这个魔鬼化身的“天神”，将美国掌控，让人们为它献出生命，它是“吃人的”资本主义的化身，人们对金钱的盲目崇拜导致妖怪火神的力量日益壮大，甚至它要进入天堂，最后被发怒的上帝降下洪水，惩罚信奉邪教和自甘堕落的人类，最后的船就是诺亚方舟，只留下了真正有信仰的“疯狂一代”。

开头的sphinx指的是古埃及斯芬克斯怪（狮身人面像），在希腊神话中，赫拉派斯芬克斯坐在忒拜城附近的悬崖上，拦住过往的路人，用缪斯所传授的谜语问他们，猜不中者就会被它吃掉，为了方便理解，我意译为“谜语神”。

Moloch摩洛克是一个与火焰密切相关的神祇，常被翻译为火神。因为与其有关的迦南及巴比伦信仰伴随着将孩童烧死献祭的习俗，故其被后世称为邪恶丑陋的魔鬼。
