i strolled out of the restaurant and toward the square about 100 meters away. the street full of restaurants on one side is narrow. then the sky opened up as i approached the square. through the treetops i saw somethings strange in the sky. i immediately recognized them as kites. they stayed in the sky, but they had colored light themselves. it was the first time i saw kites flying at night, lit with small LED lamps. and these lights changed colors regularly. incredible! but they were there. one kite even had its control line dotted with LED lights so that the line could be seen in the darkness. the line looked as if the kite was hovering in the sky with the line came down in an almost perpendicular way. the way they made kites was much advanced than when i was a kid. i made kites myself and knew and know how a kite fly and how the lines at the kite must be formed so as to get an angle nice enough to fly high. a kite can fly low and fly steep above head. the angle depends upon the short lines one makes at the kite. this kite i saw last night flew so steeply that the angle must be built in a good way. there were several kites flying in the sky. one changed colors. one looked like a lantern giving off red light. i looked at it and was about to make a comment on its lantern like shape and red light before it changed to a blue color. this abrupt and willful change made me laugh. as i approached the square, through the treetop i could see a white kite flew low as if struggling to get down. it was in the shape of an ordinary triangular. but the light it carries on its chest formed a circle. i could see the white color of the kite because, i estimated, of the short distance from where i was to where the kite was descending. if it flew high, the darkness would wolf off its whiteness and all i could see would be the color of the LED lights it carries.
