Personal Statement ----法律专业PS I am a person keen on challenges. Law will provide me with the kind of constant challenge I have always craved, while helping me to improve my analytical, practical & communication skills. Also my concern and curiosity about society and its people inspired me to pursue this subject for my higher education, as I believe Law plays an essential role in the changing nature of society. My upbringing has honed my perception of society and people leading me to be acutely aware of social injustice, inequality, exploitation, discrimination, and religious fundamentalism, especially in a society such as the one I come from - Bangladesh. I possess a desire, to struggle if necessary through my life in establishing a society which will be free from exploitation and inequality. As such, I have chosen to study Law, for I believe the proper implementation of Law is the only potent weapon to obliterate injustice. I believe throughout the history of the world, working classes have been deceived by the upper class bourgeoisie and the elites - my ultimate goal in life is to establish the rights of the socially deprived classes. I always have wondered why Law has not been used to raise the voice of the working class, and why it has been used to safeguard the interests of people who are exploiting. I seek a new definition of human rights – the true definition, without exploitation and corruption colouring the notion. My greatest wonder is why our society and the legal system, do not point out economic exploitation as an abuse of human rights; for it is the root of poverty, which elicits crime. If the creation of Law is to curb injustice, why has it not been used to eradicate this injustice? Taking law as a subject for higher education will hopefully help me find answers to my questions, and will teach me the proper method of implementation. I am someone who is passionate to evaluate problems. I am not an extremist but I do not hesitate to resort to radical measures if the situation forces it. I believe, in a society, co-operation is more desired than competition; competition doesn’t necessarily bring rapid prosperity. I adhere to a socialistic political ideology, and aim to devote myself in establishing true socialism. I am from a country, which has been subject to military dictatorship for over twenty years after her independence. My political consciousness grew during the time, when my father was imprisoned by the military just because he was a leader of a political party who opposed military regime. Police and military jointly ran a brutal campaign throughout the country to repress politicians, where they imprisoned and sometimes killed thousands of students, politicians, professionals, workers, and even soldiers. These incidents severely affected my family, making my childhood a turbulent time. After the military regime failed, a western style democratic political structure was set up, which gave nothing, yet increased the discontent of the masses, and created some elites, who virtually control the country. Wealth and power both are centralized to them, law is a puppet in their hand, and they control everything, from economy to politics. Millions of people live below the poverty level, and there is nobody, not one strong and resilient political party to represent them. Extreme form of capitalism has taken over our country’s social and human values, and morality is at the brink of extinction. Corruption is everywhere, human rights abuses are innumerable, political repression is paramount, money is power and power is everything. This indisciplined violent condition of my country created a rebellious nature within me that is why I have set my ambition to restructure the socio-political structure of my country in a radical way. I would like to utilize the knowledge I acquire from my life at university and beyond to clarify and show me the proper way of implementation of my thoughts. I have proved myself as an efficient and responsible student through primary and secondary school, I have been able to maintain and improve my grades, which are consistently good. Currently I am undertaking A’ levels in History, Government & Politics, and Bengali. Being an ambitious and inquisitive person, even after completing a Foundation Programme with an overall A grade, I have chosen to do three A’ levels in one year to study in one of the top British universities. History has always fascinated me; though this is the first time I am studying this subject in detail. In Government & Politics, I am learning about the procedures of law making and the system of politics and government in different countries. Languages have always been of interest to me, and my favoured loyalty is to my mother tongue - Bengali. I have spent my time productively on extra curricular activities. I have keenly taken part in debating, student politics and acting in television dramas. I headed my school’s debating society for one year and independently achieved many prizes in speech competitions at local and national levels. My hobbies include reading, playing cricket and table tennis, web browsing, etc. The principal reason for my desire to study at UK is the quality of teaching here and particularly in my chosen subject, Law. I also find exciting the prospect of joining a university hee with international flavours and exceptional research facilities. I believe University is a place for accumulating more interests, for meeting people, for working hard, for finding a niche in life. 文书点评-环境类-转专业 原文： San Jose - Environmental Studies Since the release of Rachel Carson’ s Silent Spring in the 1960’ s, mankind has expanded its quest to come to grips with the competing virtues of human economic entropy and of maintaining the integrity and diversity of the natural environment. As awareness of environmental degradation has increased, so has the realization of the complexity of interconnected webs of relationships among organisms and the physical and chemical environment. With this awareness, we have also come to realize that environmental problems are not easily fixed by simply focusing on a single problem with no analysis of other issues. This tendency to blindly solve environmental problems without understanding the full complexity of the problem was evident in the Environmental Protection Agency’ s (EPA) recent mandate that Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) be a required ingredient in gasoline formulas with the goal of increasing combustion efficiency. A fuel oxygenate, MTBE enhances the octane in gasoline and decreases carbon monoxide emission by increasing burning efficiencies. In its haste to declare MTBE as a required ingredient in gasoline, the EPA failed to consider a basic chemical property of MTBE and its long-term effects upon the environment. Because MTBE is highly water-soluble, it dissolves in water, leading to higher concentrations of MTBE in many lakes in the California Sierra Nevada mountains and in many groundwater supplies. Hence, by addressing only one component of a system separately, the EPA failed to see the ramifications of our apparent solution. This myopic approach to environmental remediation commonly subverts our good intentions to solve environmental problems and demonstrates a lack of understanding of how inter-related systems work. It is my goal to aid in our understanding of environmental pollution on a global scale by not only researching the fate and transport of contaminants, but also by analyzing how our current philosophies and policies affect these problems. By applying an interdisciplinary approach to both the specific scientific and technical aspects of a problem and by thoroughly analyzing social and cultural factors, I believe I can more effectively in analyze the true extent of our pollution problem and help to determine an appropriate response. In preparation for this work, my undergraduate degree in environmental studies has provided me with a solid foundation in both the sciences and state and federal environmental policy. My undergraduate emphasis in hazardous materials has given me a broad knowledge of the types of chemical releases common in both developed and undeveloped countries and their chemical and physical effects upon the environment. Through graduate and post-graduate research, I hope to further enhance this knowledge by studying the effects of chemicals commonly used in industry cycles on specific environmental compartments such as bay wetlands and partitioning to other compartments such as XXXX. In my graduate study, I would also like to expand my undergraduate study of environmental law by increasing my knowledge of the law to the area of land use and its relationship to contaminant fate and transport. In addition to my academic background, I believe that my work experience will also play a key role in helping me find success in my graduate and post-graduate studies. For the last ten years I have held a number of management positions in business. While these positions have not specifically related to environmental work, the experience has provided me with invaluable insight into how both large and small companies operate. The perspective of business management is badly needed in the environmental field where time and again we discover that environmental compliance can best be achieved by understanding business practices and tailoring compliance measures so that companies can remain profitable and be environmentally responsible. In addition to understanding the perspectives of business management, my work experience has provided me with other skills that will contribute to my success in the graduate program. In 1986,I founded a retail product/services company, Bay Area Audio, which specialized in commercial media center design and installation. As the company’ s president over a six-year period, I was responsible for managing all aspects of operations, including marketing and customer relations. This experience provided me with the opportunity to conduct market research to cultivate new customers, engage in media relations, grow profitability while maintaining budget accountability, and manage large groups of people. As a result of the marketing campaigns that I developed, revenues increased from $100,000 in 1986 to over $2 million in 1991. I believe the experience in market research and media relations will be particularly helpful in the environmental field since many environmental issues involve public participation. In 1991,I sold my interest in Bay Area Audio to gain experience in the high-technology sector. Since 1991,I have held a number of management positions for computer hardware and software companies. This experience has been invaluable in providing me the opportunity to be involved in leading edge Internet software technology. As the main purpose of the Internet and internet-related software is to enhance communications, I have played a key role in developing products that provide people with one of today’ s most valuable resources - information. Working in this market has also given me the opportunity to manage large software projects involving dozens of people. Of particular relevance to my pursuit of post-graduate environmental studies, is my experience developing global scale corporate websites for companies such as Silicon Graphics, UltraTech Stepper, and Philips Semiconductors. These projects involved working closely with the particular company’ s environmental, health, and safety departments to effectively communicate health and safety information to thousands of employees. I believe that the Internet will be an invaluable tool in both the research and implementation of environmental solutions and that my experience in the computer field will prove invaluable towards this end. In conclusion, I believe that I have much to offer San Jose State’ s graduate environmental studies program. To successfully come to grips with environmental contamination, we must understand how a specific problem fits within a larger framework from both an ecological and social perspective. I believe that the combination of my educational background with my work experience will provide me with the essential tools to substantially contribute to workable and successful solutions. Given the opportunity to pursue graduate work in environmental studies, I will contribute to effectively bringing new information to light on environmental problems and their solutions, accounting for all related cultural, industrial and environmental factors. Overall, I believe that San Jose State can help me achieve my goals by providing the advanced tools and knowledge necessary to focus on environmental problems utilizing an interdisciplinary approach so as to have an overall positive net impact on protecting the environment for generations to come. 点评： 本位是一篇环境研究的PS，文章的主题明确，论证翔实，对专业的理解角度特别但很有见地。巧妙得把毕业后不连续的专业经历变为自己申请的优势，是一篇不错的PS。 文章从结构上可以分为四部分： 第一部分：用该领域著作引出自己对Environmental Study（ES）的理解 第二部分：用EPA在San Jose导致的反面案例批判对ES的错误理解 第三部分：自己的工作经历在ES研究中所具有的优势 第四部分：自己的特点和能力将对ES带来的贡献 整篇文章，作者都在强调一个观点：ES研究中最重要的东西——对环境问题的宏观态度。一方面，这一点在ES中的确非常重要，另一方面，这个特点能够让他将自己毕业后从事的非ES研究的劣势巧妙的转化为自己最大的优势。让自己近10年的工作经历成为自己申请中一个亮点，整个构思非常巧妙。 除此之外，作者还通过第二段的专业性叙述，展现出了自己出色的专业能力。说明自己除了具备管理能力、对市场的了解和媒体关系这种Social intelligence，同时还有这个领域所需要的Engineering能力。作者在整个表述中表现得极为自信，在最后一段很好的结合自己的能力和特点将自己能够给ES研究带了贡献做出了说明。表达了进入此领域研究的信心和诚心。 本篇PS的不足之处是作者在文中使用了过多的长句，而且文章总体长度偏长（1099个单词），导致文章结尾有些仓促，不能对申请学校提出有针对性地申请原因。

谈留学文书写作的语言问题 说起留学文书的写作，无论是对于DIY留学申请者来说，还是对于找咨询中介机构的同学们来说，大家都有一个问题，就是我们所写的英语是不是很地道。今天，就这个问题，我来谈谈自己的想法。 从事留学文书写作已经有大概七八年的时间了。我所遇到的学生在这个问题上纠结的不占少数。很多同学会拿着自己的文书去找老外润色，认为他们的语言很native。这点毋庸置疑，因为英语国家的老外，母语是英语，肯定说的要比我们更地道一些。但是，对于文书来说，这样做未必是好事。对于大部分同学来说，主要会考虑以下两个方面： 我们用的语言，老外用过没用过。（语言一定要有出处） 很多同学存在着这样一个误区，就是别人没用过的语言，我们就不能用。这是错误的。从小学初中学英语考试，很多老师就教育我们，要学外国人说话，外国人说过的，我们能用，外国人没有说过的，或者你在哪都没有看到过的，就不能用。其实大可不必如此。英语是一门语言，是人们沟通和表达某种感情的工具。如果每个人都用别人用过的语言，那就有个问题了： “英国人或者美国人，是跟谁学得？”这个问题恐怕要追溯到远古了吧。我们可能得到的答案是：“跟安格鲁萨克森人学的”。那安格鲁萨克森语言，又是从哪个分支来的呢？这个问题就变成了一个历史问题。 众所周知，语言是不断发展和变化的。下面举几个例子说明。从汉语来说，随着网络的发展，也有了很多新鲜的词汇注入。比如“伤不起，XX控，伪娘”等等。而这些词语，在20世纪90年代的时候说出来，恐怕没有人能懂。但是，随着语言的发展，有人用了它们，而大家觉得这个词，可以包含很多意思，能够用于很多场合，可以很简单的表达很复杂概念，于是，这个词就被越来越多的使用了。 从汉英语言和文化的角度来说，汉语的很多词语也是英语借鉴过来的。比如最新流行的“hold住”。同样，英语也有很多次是汉语进化的。比如Toufu（豆腐），Kongfu（功夫）。还有一个是之前被很多中国人称之为Chinglish的语言：“Long time no see”，现在外国人也用的很多。在这样一个全球一体化的环境下，语言也逐渐的体现出其快速的发展和融合。那么，从留学文书的角度来讲，相信每个申请者都希望自己的文书足够抢眼，能充分体现出自己的个性。那么，在语言上，也要革新。 应该如何把握语言创新的“度”？ 这个问题是上一个问题的延伸。我们必须承认，Chinglish是的确存在的。而中式英语的真正含义是：“一种按照汉文化的逻辑思维编排的，使西方人读完后不知所云的英语。”从这个概念上可以看出，中式英语，是外国人读不懂的英语，而并非他们没有见过的英语。在对方能够理解的基础上，语言上勇于创新，才能给他们带来新鲜感，从而使你的文书脱颖而出。而这个“度”，就是以对方能够理解为主要参照。 举个例子: “今天，是个美妙的日子：周二的下午，我从学校回来，刚喝完了一杯茶，坐在了电脑前。我很高兴终于找到了一个合适的时间来写我的个人陈述，我认为，这是达成我梦想的最重要的一步。” 这是我的一个学生PS的第一段。当我看到她在描述自己写PS的环境和心情的时候，我能感觉到如果她在写这篇PS的时候，是一种很放松很惬意的状态。下面，我给出对于这段话的两种翻译方式： 方式一：（对方能读懂的保守写法） Today is a splendid day. In Tuesday afternoon, I came back from school, taking a cup of tea. Now, I sit in front of computer. I am very glad to find such a suitable time to write my personal statement because I believe that it is an important step to my dream. 这种英语表达是比较保守的。基本上按照汉语的句子顺序，用英语将其说明白了而已。但是，这种表达方式，却很难引起对方的共鸣，因为这种近乎于平实的表达方法，是体现不出你当时的那份惬意和平静的。 方式二：（相对开放式写法，重在传意） Coming back from school on the splendid Tuesday afternoon, I am sitting with my computer in front after a brief tea. It is a fortunate time for me to compose my personal statement as the important step to my dream with the right whether and smooth heart. 从表面可以看出，这种翻译方式有一点叛逆。初稿阶段，这个学生问我两个问题。第一，他不确定文章当中的“a brief tea”是否可以这样用。他认为，tea在语法上是不可数名词。a tea的用法本身是否存在问题。另外，a brief tea怎么理解，是否是Chinglish。第二，他认为“It is a fortunate time”这种用法翻译成为“这是个幸运的时间”。他说他之前没看到过这种用法。下面，我们来分享一下我对这两个问题的解释。 首先从第一个问题来看，a brief tea，老外是可以理解的。因为在西方人的生活中，一般都有下午茶的时间。这已经成为了很多西方人生活的一种习惯和方式。所以，用tea隐含指代喝茶的时间，再加上brief，老外是完全可以理解的。若问我a brief tea是否有出处，我的答案是：没有。至少我没有见过。这就是语言的新鲜感。那么，tea究竟能不能指代喝茶的时间呢？我的答案也很明确：你用了，也许就有了。若从语法上讲，中国也有很多动词名词词性间互相借用的例子。比如“被和谐了，悲剧了“等。若真的要像翻译方式一那样处理成a cup of tea, 老外很真不一定能看懂。因为他们喝咖啡的杯子貌似大小是差不多的。所以，他们对a cup of coffee是有一定概念的。而我并不确定他们是否有对a cup of tea有概念。而中文所表达的“喝了一杯茶”的侧重点，也不是说喝了一杯而不是两杯，而侧重说喝了一杯茶，休息了一会儿。或者可以说成是“休息了一杯茶的时间”。所以，用a brief tea反而会更贴切。 第二个问题，为什么要用fortunate time呢？原因是从中文文章能够看出，作者对于写PS的时间是很讲究的。好天气一周可能能有几天。但是光有好天气貌似是不够的，还需要有写作的灵感和心情。如果让好天气和惬意的写作心情碰到一起，那能不能算是fortunate呢？要问出处，我答案还是一样的：我没看到过，但是，中文的感觉告诉我，这么用最合适。而英文的感觉告诉我，老外可以看懂。同时，PS的感觉告诉我，这足够吸引人。 如果按照第二种方式翻译的话，我们读完第一段的英文，在忘记中文的情况下，是否能让对方感觉到一点点惬意呢？也许这样会吧。同时，语言的新鲜感会很大程度上会让教授青睐你的PS。 总而言之，真正的Chinglish和语言的创新性描写刻划之间存在着本质的区别。这种本质的区别很难言传。但是有一个比较有意思的判断方法：真正的Chinglish，当我们翻译回中文的时候，是可以直接对应的，不费吹灰之力。而语言的创新性，是以西方文化和人文为基础，创造出丰富的语言元素来表达不同的意境和感受。由于创新的语言是基于西方文化和人文特点基础上的，所以虽然老外可能没见过类似用法，但是完全可以看懂，细心的教授，是能读出其妙处的。

美国大学对PS的要求 申请人易犯的最大错误就是将个人陈述写成一部史诗或过于光辉的人生历程。申请人应尽可能选择充分介绍，反映自己的一两个主题，论述观点要明确，要点要突出。"个人陈述"的主题还应该肯定自己的长处和优点，体现申请人的与众不同。如果不断解释自己的缺憾和弱点，则为不智之举。 虽然偶尔有人递交两份个人陈述，但我们只需要一个简明的个人陈述，我们并不在乎长度。如果你递交多份的个人陈述，我想那一定是有原因的，我会尽力找出原因何在。事实上，如果申请人极力想对他们的弱点做一个说明的话，我倒建议可以在个人陈述后加一个简短的附录。就我个人的观点来看，如果将个人陈述本身用于解释弱点，就大错特错了。我希望看到的个人陈述可以传达一些正面的信息，传达一些在其他的申请材料中无法显示的信息。 Writing sample和个人陈述是完全不同的。前者可使我们发现一些在个人陈述中无法发现的写作上的缺点。writing sample也可使我们看出到底申请人是否具有初步的逻辑能力，论辩能力和提出观点的能力。 http://www.hanlinyihai.com/article.php?aid=626

商科本科–PS到主Essay（本科主ESSAY篇） 说到本科的主essay，很多人同学将其混淆与PS。从主essay在留学文书中所扮演的角色来看，这种文书形式的确和PS无太大差别。但是，对于大部分本科申请的同学们来讲，其主essay的写作从立意到写作方法上，与PS都是相差甚远。 对于国内高中毕业的同学们而言，我们相对于本科生来说有一个不容忽视的恶劣，就是我们的专业背景没有他们那么强。因而在文书写作的素材上，也没有本科毕业生那么丰富。如果我们从PS的角度上来审视和规划我们的主essay的话，无疑是将我们的劣势展现的“淋漓精致”，因为PS的核心和主体段落要求我们以叙述性或者故事性的方式集中展现我们在某个领域的经历，感受甚至作为。这些正是高中毕业生所苦恼的部分。因此， 很多学校要求本科申请的学生以自命题的方式写一篇主essay，一般字数不限。 面对这样的文书形式，我们的写作应该着眼于讲述一件你人生经历中对你有影响力的事情。其实，主Essay不只是题目不限，文体也可以多种多样。散文方式，对话方式，情景方式都可以。在去年申请季的时候，有一个同学就写了一份立意非常新颖的对话式essay。甚至在后期，她把这份essay做成了flash动画，以全面展现其情景性。文章的主要内容是一次以环保为题的创意大赛。当其他同学都用了绿色或蓝色作为环保主题背景的时候，她却用了黑白两色，以反面的角度呈现。像这种essay就很成功，因为它很完美的回避了其作为高中毕业生在专业领域上的不足，而用一个普通的经历来展现其创造力和创新性。 所以，对于本科的主essay来说，我们的主要任务是要通过各种方式，来更多的表达出我们精神层面的东西。比如坚持，毅力，创新能力，组织能力，团队协作能力，永不放弃，永不跟随等。 对于散文方式的essay来说，我们要通过散文中的文学性语言来形象的描绘和刻画出我们当时的心理活动，矛盾斗争或是平和冷静。大部分essay都是激进的，即通过描述作者在某一次经历中所受到的挫折，进而刻画出其心里活动，从想放弃，到鼓起勇气，再到战胜困难走向成功的过程。这是典型以矛盾斗争为主题的激进写法。同时还有以平和冷静为主色调的。这类的essay重在感悟。比如有的同学在其essay里面主要谈到了喝茶。讲到不同的茶，品行和脾气都不同，对水温和PH值的要求也不同。通过对茶文化的阐述和叙述，思考人生。这是典型的“冷静派”。也有的学生，通过散文性的小故事来讲道理。比如有的学生在essay中谈到的是一次和父亲骑自行车的经历。他们比赛，将目标设定在一个很远的地方。父亲将全程分为了几个小目标。达到每个小目标都会休息一会儿，总结胜利和失败的原因。最后，看似很远的目标，不知不觉就在脚下了。通过这个小故事，他感悟到了关于人生和追求的哲理。其实，写作的思路有很多，可以是激进型的，也可以是平和感悟型的。 对话也是essay的一种写作方式，即以对话描写的手法来展现你的个性和与众不同。在这种方式下，对话的主要目的是要突出情节的跌宕起伏，人物的性格特点以及矛盾的充分展现。以对话为主要方式的essay，对语言的要求也非常之高。因为这种essay写出来很像一个小剧本或者微形小说。其文学性不言而喻。正如《傲慢与偏见》之所以成为名著，莎翁的很多作品之所以经典，都是源于其通过对话来展现人物性格。所以，这种essay方式，对于英语语言程度不高的高中毕业生来说，要慎重选择。 谈了这么多，下面我分享一篇不错的essay中文稿，希望对大家有所帮助。 我的网球人生 台下传来阵阵的欢呼声，我知道这是大家对我的喝彩，拿着北京市社区网球大赛冠军的奖杯，时间仿佛就在此刻停止，我感到我站在了网球生涯的巅峰之上。 经过多年来的业余练习和2年专业的训练，我的人生似乎已经和网球融为一体。有时走在路上，会习惯性的用手掌当球拍练习挥拍；坐在椅子上，会习惯性的扭腰，做挥拍时的转体动作；站着的时候，会时常把自己的身体扭成弓形，做发球动作。在我最初练习网球时，每天做的梦都是我一个人拿着球拍在球场上驰骋的画面。能在赛场上优雅且完美击败对手，是我最大的梦想。 然而，追求梦想的道路并不平坦，长期的练习，让我经历了各种人生的坎坷。不小心的跌倒，扭伤的腰和脚，手上磨出的茧子，都让我的身体变得伤痕累累，有时我甚至感到那支精美的网球拍变得无比沉重。为了追求精准，多少次因为一个动作，而反复几十次甚至几百次的练习。历经了最初的这些遭遇后，我曾有过放弃的念头，而就在我拖着疲惫的身躯，瘫坐在球场上，思考怎样能够体面的离开球场时。曾经的那些坚持与成功还是把我留在了球场上，“就像曾经为了训练体能，我将此前几年每次3000米的长跑加强到5000米。为了能够让母亲不缩短我的网球训练时间，在3个小时大运动量的训练之后，我只能靠喝红牛坚持着完成当天的作业。（其实我知道，这个饮料更多给我的也只是精神上的暗示，让我觉得我可以从身上找出更多的能量）正是这些曾经的坚持，更让我会无条件的守住自己的信念，因为挥动球拍练习网球的过程就像人生一般，酸甜苦辣，喜怒哀乐，失败与荣耀并存，通过对自己的磨练渐渐成长，并在其中寻找一种精神的支柱。Nothing is really over until the day you give up。 网球教会我的不仅仅是坚持。在各种比赛中，我赢得比赛的情况比较多，但很多对手虽然输给了我，但我却发现他们有些人发球比我好，有些人底线击球的准确率和稳定性要优于我，有些对手相持能力更强…教练的引导和自己的观察让我从这些对手身上学到了很多。而且这种观察很多时候是在激烈的比赛状态中做出的，这让我变得更加成熟和冷静。 我相信很多人无法将网球与团队精神联系起来。但对而言，网球却是沟通、配合及团队协作精神的载体。那是一种教练与球员之间，团体赛的队友之间，双打搭档之间的默契配合。在一场重要的比赛中，为了让球队赢得比赛，作为主力的我，学会了信任对手，让他替代我打第二场单打比赛。这样我保存了充足的体力，在最后的决胜局中战胜了对方的头号单打，让全队获得了胜利。在和队友搭档双打时，我发现两个单打能力最强的人加在一起，并不一定能够组成最强的双打team。有些球看似是搭档的失误，但如果我在之前的回球质量更好的话，他就不需要面对对手凶狠的进攻，也不会失误。面对劲敌时，相互鼓励，失误时主动承担责任等这一切一步步加深了我对团队精神的理解。 我喜欢将球摔打在球场上，然后看着球起落的样子，那个时候我总能够感受到同样有着跌宕起伏的人生。波峰的到来，表明波谷已经不远；波谷的临近，表明只要努力、坚持，一定可以到达另一个波峰。我享受每一次击球，享受在球场上的每一分钟，享受网球带给我的快乐。那个承载着我的汗水、泪水的地方，那个承载的我的童年、青年、还会是更多的地方。就算没有我的这些分析，网球，只是这两个字的意义，带给我的已经足够了。

每个学术研究者必须经历的一道关卡，就是Research Proposal的写作。它大致对应中文里的“开题报告”、“选题报告”、“研究报告”，是一项研究开始之前的提纲、规划和陈述；既是为了帮助自己梳理文献、整理思路、廓清方向，也常常是写给相关他人的说明：研究动机和意义何在？可能有何成果？为什么它值得你的资助/认可/支持/批准？不知道是否可以说，好的proposal是研究成功的一半。但实际而功利的说，如果你的proposal很烂，可能根本就不会有开始研究的机会。 How to write a research proposal? 能否写出漂亮的proposal，本质上取决于你对研究的思考深度和专业水准。但形式也很重要。英文的Research Proposal自有一套“八股”。程式化和结构化的好处就在于，可以让读者直接集中注意到最本质的内容上，而不是为形式分神。对于非英语native speaker的我们，如何理解英文学术世界的规范或曰思维定势，也是写作proposal之前必备的背景知识。下面这篇流传甚广的Research Proposal写作指南，言简意赅，颇具启发，对我自己的写作有所帮助，也希望能给更多的学界同仁带来便利。 http://www.hanlinyihai.com/diy_txt.php?aid=663
