As for finishing my book… I fear that New Zealand would distract me entirely too much. Best leave me here in Westeros for the nonce. But I tell you this — if I don’t have THE WINDS OF WINTER in hand when I arrive in New Zealand for worldcon, you have here my formal written permission to imprison me in a small cabin on White Island, overlooking that lake of sulfuric acid, until I’m done. Just so long as the acrid fumes do not screw up my old DOS word processor, I’ll be fine.

really? I actually accepted the ending. like how Dany die, how Arya go west, north independent, Jon take the black and Bran be king.is all somewhat hinted… I think the end is what GRRM visioned (mostly). just I think D+D was rushing it to finish and skipped a lot of details… which is the problem…. however. show this big will never please the fans

I'm mostly OK with the ending but not the way D&D handled it. All the character arcs are rushed and dumbed down. Jon kills Dany and that's it, Sansa tells everybody about Jon's true identity and that's it, Arya kills the night king and that's it, Bran wargs into God knows what then sits the throne, Jorah dies for Dany, Theon dies for the Starks, Mel lights some trenches... You get the idea, all characters are one dimensional, nothing but a shadow of their former selves. Dany is the only one with some sort of a character arc but it's rushed, I can accept her becoming the mad Targaryan queen, but she can't just snap from the chain breaker into the mad queen.

exactly. they rushed through everything …. this 13 eps (s7+s8) can easily stretch to 10-13 eps each season. the most important thing is story as they make tyrion said…. and they seems to forgotten about that themselves
