Recently, I received an email from a follower who was confused about my referring to Jupiter entering Scorpio when it was currently in Virgo. He was both right and wrong. There are two ways of dividing up the zodiac circle: the first, known as the sidereal system and used in Hindu astrology, is based on the constellations while the other, the tropical zodiac, is based on the seasons and is used in Western astrology.
Of course, nothing in astrology is as simple as that, but I don’t think this is the place to get into the precession of the equinoxes…Unless specifically stated most forecasts and interpretations by western astrologers, including myself, will be based on the tropical zodiac. So, Jupiter is indeed set to arrive in Scorpio next week, which is very good news for Pluto people who are in for a boom year, and pretty good news for Taureans, Aquarians and Leos. But more of this next week.
Onward and upward.
A full moon in your sign is a once-in-a-year event, so if you have the chance to see that great globe in the night sky on Thursday, take a moment to reflect on the journey you have made from last October to this. This is an important year for many Arians and this part of the year one of the most crucial. There will be endings and beginnings – that all too familiar full moon theme – and realizations and reckonings.
Whether your heart is full to the brim with love and blessings or you are nursing a sadness and a loss, once October is through a fresh cycle will be opening with new opportunities and new vistas. Onward and upward.
No need to be discouraged.
Simmering situations come to the bubble. For some Taureans this is great good news because a period of waiting is over and you’ll receive some answers – and ones that you will like. However, for others, what emerges, whether in the heat of the moment or in a message or discussion, will prove disappointing. Part of the reason for a lapse of joy and confidence is the full moon, which is taking place on the axis of health and well-being.
Put another way, you may be overworked and less robust, therefore not so capable of taking things in your stride. Have a good night’s sleep and a situation could look a lot more positive in the morning.
A little bit of salt does you good.
Saturn can be likened to salt: a little sprinkle adds quality and meaning to life: too much, and it’s not just unpleasant but unpalatable. With this in mind, some Geminis are going to find the events of the week ahead just to their taste – you may sense you are on solid ground with all the boxes ticked – while others will wish they could go back over time and do things differently.
What comes about in early to mid-October has been in the works for a while, and if mistakes have been made they will enable you to indeed do things differently next time. Over the weekend, promises made and steps taken will prove binding.
The full moon effect.
Some full moons are more important than others, as is Thursday’s, which flanks your life-direction axis. This would be an excellent moment to end a chapter related to the home and family, on the one hand, and your career, on the other. Sometimes, of course, you have no choice in the matter and events conspire to close a door.
However, the focus should be not on what is ending but where a new route will take you. The astrology is far from simple and easy at the moment: the tides of change are forcing much of the zodiac onto new trajectories, whether they like it or not. Celebrating or commiserating, you’re in good company!.
Feet on the ground.
Travel and communications play a lead part in this week’s astrological story. A project could be completed and a new cycle begun, first and foremost regarding work. Should you be interviewing or in discussions with employers, be prepared to deal in facts and leave emotions out of the mix. You’ll soon find out whether you have what it takes to get where you want to go.
And same philosophy applies to travel: especially late in the working week, keep a cool head should delays or diversions occur – you’ll reach your destination, albeit by another route. The weekend puts Saturn centre stage – great if you’re signing a deal but not exactly joy in a bottle.
Saturn rules, OK?
As you may know by now, Saturn is not the great cheerleader of the planets. As long as you’re ready to put in the hours and keep to the blueprint, you’ll be fine: take a short-cut, argue your point to the nth degree, and you’ll get your knuckles rapped. This astrological climate favours serious decision-making and long-term commitments; and if you meet with a rejection or disappointment, you have to accept the situation with grace.
Look for the lesson, then get back in the saddle and ride off into the sunset. I don’t mean to be insensitive, but after many run-ins with this celestial taskmaster, I’m a practiced hand at taking my medicine in the knowledge that it is good for me.
Be serious but not negative.
No matter how solid a relationship may be there are moments when you question whether or not all the negatives are worth it. And you may reach one of those moments this week. Only you can decide if a personal or professional relationship has done its time, but I would urge restraint should you be tempted to pull the plug in the heat of the moment.
With a full moon on the relationship axis and a Venus-Saturn square, things could be looking overly grey, but in a couple of weeks’ time you may find the situation much improved. Plus, this astrological combo is perfect for making your vows or putting you signature to a life-long contract.
Take a step back.
With a crowded twelfth house, you may not be feeling as on top of situations as normal. However, rather than try to buck the astrological trend, take a step back. Defer a decision, delegate a task and park a problem – not indefinitely, just give it a breathing space. The end of the week is the most pressurized period of all: situations will appear more difficult than they really are and you will be rather thin-skinned.
Come the weekend, you should have more clarity and your intuition about a certain situation will be either borne out or you will realize the voice of your hopes and fears has misled you.
Done and dusted.
A delivery of some description is in the stars. Aside from receiving a package or a message, a project you on which you have worked long and hard could be completed, a romance turned into a full-blown commitment or perhaps a baby is indeed on the way. Certainly, with only a couple more months of Saturn in your sign, Thursday’s full moon is an indication that a term of trial is all but over.
This is not necessarily an easy week, however, and the weekend could prove particularly effortful, but if you are ready to nail your colours to the mast or liberate yourself from a burden you no longer wish to carry, the planets are behind you.
Yes or no?
Six months ago, a full moon took place in the area of career and life-goals, now that full moon is reversed and the focus is upon your base in life. Should you have taken steps last April to put a plan in place or should you have ended or begun a personal or professional relationship another crossroads lies in front of you. And for some Capricorns a change of home base is in view.
What decisions you make are up to you, but with Saturn poised to enter your sign in December now would be an appropriate time to shed baggage you do not need or deepen your commitment to someone or something. At the very least, Thursday’s full moon is an opportune moment for reflection and reappraisal.
Rise above it.
Closure is always a good thing, as long as it is a peaceful process rather than an ending in a hail of bullets! With this in mind, make an effort to put signatures on paper this week or to complete some other process that has taken a while to put together. By contrast, if you are disappointed with a result, avoid making a knee-jerk response: think it through because there is probably something you can salvage.
There really is no need to burn a bridge at this time, and even if someone else seems bent on doing just that, leave the door open. Last but not least: leave plenty of time for journeys at the end of the week.
It’s not over till the fat lady sings.
Venus is journeying through the zone of relating, and in many cases inspiring great improvements in life and love. Now this generous planet hooks up to Saturn, setting the stage for a big decision, first and foremost regarding a relationship. Should you be tying the knot in the near future, these two planets will bless the occasion but if a partnership is in serious trouble it may seem as if you have no option other than to throw the towel in.
Maybe there is no future together, but working your way through a crisis could make you stronger as a couple. The week has its difficult moments but these are intended to spur you on to greater heights.
