An Art Show Vol.8 will be held at DDC on March 5, Sunday 2017. This day marks An Art Show's one year anniversary and is very close to International Women's Day. Hence this event will have an exhibition showcasing photography that embraces the female energy, a market supporting female entrepreneurs and performances by female musicians, dancers, poets and story tellers residing in Beijing.
Unlike previous shows there'll be an in depth integration between creative platforms. First off our feature photographer Eduardo Akins will be presenting images captured on analogue film. For this particular event he'll be sharing his latest project that combines photography with art by female artists and people living in Beijing.

On top of that we have a collaborative Live Art performance with live music and dance by A.Borealis and Inko di Ö. During this live art performance Sofia Huang will transfer Inko di Ö's dance movements onto paper using a drawing technique called blind contour.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Eduardo Akins developed a passion for photography out of his wanderlust; he began traveling extensively while living in northern California, capturing memories of his encounters with new cultures. Although he initially began shooting digital photography, a stolen camera incident in 2010, while on a year-long sabbatical from teaching, guided him to start working with analog film. He has found that this photographic approach has provided a more meaningful output in his images that retain an aesthetic quality unmatched by digital.
