神话接力乐队（Living Mythologies）正在中国的北京、上海、南京、杭州、贵阳等城市进行巡演。也将在北京大学外国语学院主办的 12-14，中央民族大学主办的（中央民族大学民族学人类学理论与方法研究中心主办和中国少数民族研究中心协办的）12-13等中国知名高等学府以及相关机构举办的学术交流活动上进行发言汇报。巡演的主题是“深邃天空”，乐团将以下面的方式呈现其中的意境：宇宙游者专场（上海OnStage）12-09，宇宙绿洲专场（北京DDC）12-16，深邃行星专场（MAO杭州) 12-12，永恒前哨专场（火星CLUB通州）12-17。此外，神话接力乐队要参与若干的交流活动如族际艺术民间沙龙（南京欧拉艺术空间）等。
Living Mythologies is in the midst of a China tour in venues in cities including Beijing (DDC) 12-16, Shanghai (Onstage) 12-09, Nanjing (Ola Arts Space) 12-10, Hangzhou (Mao LiveHouse) 12-12, Nanjing, Tongzhou and other places. They will also be conducting academic and cultural exchange programs with students in universities through programs hosted by top schools such as Peking University Foreign Language Department (12-14)as well as Minzu University of China’s (Hosted by the Ethnology and Anthropology Theory and Methods Research Center and Co-Hosted by Ethnic Minorities Study Center of China) on (12-13). The current tour is called Inner Astronomy and the band will use the conduct the following live performances to fulfill the concept of the tour: (1) Space Nomad concert ( Shanghai On Stage), Space Oasis Concert (Beijing DDC), Deep Planet Concert (Mao Hangzhou), Eternal Outpost Concert (Mars CLUB Tongzhou). Other than this, Living Mythologies will be conducting a few semi-academic lectures series In Nanjing and in Beijing at venues such as the Ola Art Space and more.
In all parts of the tour Living Mythologies will transport the audience from their inner heart to the depths of space and open new spaces in the human soul taking us to a direct encounter with the power of transethnicity. “Inner Astronomy” implies such desires.
Living Mythologies has five members from 4 different countries that sing in 8 languages. The songs include folk songs, originals and new forms of music that are transethnic in nature, In terms of style they are more or less alternative world, post-rock and experimental music. They are comprised of Minzu University PhD Student and Sonar player for Greywolf band Andy Bauer (U.S.A.) as well as Huun Huur Tu member Radik Tyulyush (Tuvan), Hanhong drummer Azmat (Aksu Uzbek), JAM band’s Yasen (Kashgar Uyghur) and the Ethnic MInorities Study Center of China researcher Tran Nguyen (Vietnam).
Other than performances, Living Mythologies is also headed into the studio to work on their first album. It is a rather involved process for which they have been recording in the USA, China and Russia for about 3 years. During the tour they will be cooperating with friends from Chinese recording studios in different locations to capture in the moment new inspirations gained from experiences with Chinese audiences on stage during the tour just as it happens.
Other than this, during this tour, Living Mythologies with perform with the well known Okinawa Ryukyu Folk Musician Ooshiro Misako at DDC on Dec. 16th. Living Mythologies has absorbed inspirations from Japan, China, Russia,Uzbekistan, Tuva, Vietnam and other ethnic cultures of various nations. Members also have spent time in Okinawa to study the folk music there. There is a lot of destiny brewing up in the coincidental smooth arrangements of this tour.
