Misako Oshiro is one of the greatest singers of Ryukyu Folk. She was born in 1936 in Osaka City, and grew up Nago City, Okinawa. Her grandfather and relatives, master of Ryukyu classical music, taught her Ryukyu classical music and Ryukyu dance.
