About Piccola Patria (Small Homeland) : in the midst of Italy's secessionist Northeast (where separatist and localist movements thrive on the cultural and economic contradictions of present-day Italy), the troubled adolescence of two girls leads to tragedy.
About the Director:
Alessandro Rossetto (b. 1963) holds a degree in Anthropology from the University of Bologna, plus a specialization in Visual Anthropology and Documentary from the University Paris X - Nanterre. He has been a professor in ethnographic documentary at prestigious European ZeLIG Documentary School for the past 10 years. In 2010 the New York Documentary Film Festival dedicated a retrospective to his work.
Piccola Patria (Small Homeland) is his first feature-length fiction film and was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival,and went on to win various awards at numerous festivals worldwide.
