About the film : In the midst of Italy's secessionist north-east(i.e. Liga Veneta, Lega Nord, who wished to separate northern Italy from the rest of the country for cultural and economic reasons), the turbulent adolescence of two girls leads to tragedy.
Alessandro Rossetto (b. 1963) holds a degree in Anthropology from the University of Bologna, plus a specialization in Visual Anthropology and Documentary from the University Paris X - Nanterre. He has been a professor in ethnographic documentary at prestigious European ZeLIG Documentary School for the past 10 years. In 2010 the New York Documentary Film Festival dedicated a retrospective to his work.
Piccola Patria (Small Homeland) is his first feature length fiction film and was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival , and went on to win various awards at numerous festivals worldwide.
