A video and sound installation, G.D.P. Machine explores the consumerist culture by presenting the dynamics of Capital in texts as well as the visual language of 3D. With the invisible socio-economic systems simulating biological mechanisms of living and digesting, the work creates a space where the black humor of consumerism is translated by a series of words and visual codes; the Capitalistic system, the Commodity, and the producing and consuming individual thus form the new Holy Trinity.
The four separate pieces include two 3D videos and two text-videos. The sounds and images are randomly generated within a given range by a programming software. Cart in Space demonstrates the processes in which a shop cart is dissolved, reassembled and replicated in a 3D-visualized space. The exchange of currency into words constitutes the operation and dissection of a machine in Data Machine. In Random Talk and Window Voice, pronouns, verbs and nouns are randomly put together and projected on three plaster squares and windows.
