Two people. One wooden box. Forty-eight metal contact points. This is the basic idea of INTRE-FACE.
The wooden box is called Harmonic Field. It is designed and handmade by American sound art device artists, Arius Blaze and Ben Houston of Folktek. No keyboard. No strings. Only forty-eight metal contact points. The performer is required to use his/her body as part of the circuitry to generate sounds.
In each of the INTER-FACE performance, Hong Kong sound artist Sin:Ned will invite different artist to play the Harmonic Field with him. Face to face. With such unique instrumental interface.
Here in Beijing, we have the debut performance of INTRE-FACE.
In this debut performance, Yan Jun is invited to play the Harmonic Field with Sin:Ned. With electro-acoustic duo No One Pulse as opening act, Alok and KWC will pair with guest artists Jackson Garland and Vavabond for a duet improvisation.

While not designing, KWC spends time cutting loops and recording with his non-standard portable devices, he's 1/2 of the electro-acoustic improvisation duo No One Pulse, and 1/3 of the laptop trio iii.
While not making sounds, KWC spends time designing under the alias of Sleepatwork and occasionally curating art projects as well.
No One Pulse
No One Pulse的二步曲實驗電音專輯《Tele》及《Pathic》，分別發表於香港的Lona Records及中國的Little Sound。
An experimental electro-acoustic duo formed by Wong Chung-fai (Sin:Ned) and Chau Kin-wai (KWC) from Hong Kong.
Their collaboration first started in 2003 for the audio/visual internet project "60 seconds" and participated in the multi-media live event "Media Jam" for Hong Kong Sound & Vision Festival in 2003.
The two formed as No One Pulse in 2006, exploring the concept of free improvisation and the world of free-from electronics that embraces randomness, chaotic structure, and microsound methodology by means of non-musical instrument and devices.
他的首兩張個人作品《Uroborus: A Study On No-input Device》 及 《60 Seconds: A Schizophrenic Manual For Eternity》，均於2006年發表於Lona Records名下。
An idiosyncratic writer and a sonic artist from Hong Kong, who hacks and twists anything he can put his hands on. Used to be one of the major contributing writers of the legendary Hong Kong alternative music magazine MCB. While not writing as a pseudo-music critic elaborating his esoteric worldview, in the same idiosyncratic fashion, he spends much of his time hacking and sculpting sonic materials with his laptop and various electronic gears.
His interest ranges widely from improvisation, sound art, experimental music, and noise art to field recordings, and had taken part and performed in various festivals and exhibitions such as HK Sound and Vision Festival (2003), Get It Louder (2007), Hong Kong & Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (2008). His first two solo works, "Uroborus: A Study On No-input Device" and "60 Seconds: A Schizophrenic Manual for Eternity", were both released by Lona Records in 2006. He is also one half of the electro-acoustic concept duo No One Pulse, member of the laptop trio iii and founding member of the imprint Re-Records.
