Welcome to the year 2013, a.k.a. Year One of Post Apocalypse.
As the welcome note above insinuated, the Mayan prophecies eventually came true in the year of 2012. Few had narrowly escaped from the unprecedented mankind genocide and the whole shebang might only exist in myth, which may have more or less contributed to your reasonable ignorance...
I should have zipped my mouth and let bygones be bygones, however, it is my guts that are telling me at least you should know one thing, only one thing, which begot an astonishing twist in the end of the doomed day, a twist that had saved the whole world.
The thing turned out to be this list.
