　　Free to fly是专辑中唯一的人声歌曲，可能大家对2002一贯的飘渺有点感冒，不过自从加入双子星后，他们每张专辑发行前做的Promo Vid确实很漂亮。GeminiSun的Audio Visual Connect Series这一理念的确不错，让新世纪乐迷们有了视觉上的享受，又让公司的小金库更加充实地度过。这一系列名副其实。

　　What mysteries and secrets did the ancient civilizations hold? From the unforgettable Free to Fly to the stirring 1054 A.D. this is 2002 like we have never heard and seen before!
　　Each time we finish a record, I look back on it and wonder how just the two of us were able to produce it in a lifetime, much less the 12-14 months it actually took. This newest one is no exception. It was conceived on a road trip to Kentucky in August 2007. We instinctively knew it was going to be a departure for us musically, and we also knew that we wanted to take the video content to another level, but we could not have fully understood at the time what we were about to create with A Word in the Wind. The elements came together in an almost magical way, as if the work knew the direction it was heading, and we merely had to follow... While Pamela had set out on her photographic/video expedition to the rugged cliffs and often treacherous areas of the Four-Corners region, I was learning to sing two notes simultaneously, and to pull the great lost knowledge of the ancients into our musical journey.
　　As time went on, we came to realize that the video Pamela was creating would be more than just a "bonus DVD" or a "value add" to the Music CD, and that it would be just as important to telling the story as the music was. It had become part of the whole art. We had always planned to mix the music in 5.1 surround, but the video made this even more imperative. A Word in the Wind is the most ambitious project 2002 has ever undertaken.
　　If the album has a central theme, it is about ancient people's expression of their connection to the Earth and the Cosmos, through music, art, dance and spirituality.
　　For the most part, music and sound held a very different meaning to the great civilizations of the past than it does in our world today. These days, we have recorded music, thousands of pieces, that we can carry around in our little iPods and call any one of them up on a moments whim... it has become so convenient and commonplace, and so pervasive in our society that we can scarcely even get away from it if we try. Is it any wonder that we take it for granted, that music has become just one more thing we passively engage in, either for entertainment or background, or to get our attention to help the folks on TV sell us things?
　　In ancient China, so important was music and its proper application, that they believed whole dynasties were successful or destroyed because of it. In Tibet, the monks have been singing the Om for thousands of years, for the purpose of holding the whole world together. The ancient Egyptian priests "sang" their magical language to one another, every word carefully crafted for its exact purpose, and every secret guarded from those who would abuse its power.
　　A Word in the Wind is our musical and visual impression of what they left us, the word they sent out into the world that would someday, in some far away future return to those who would listen.
　　This album is different than our previous works, and as such we sincerely hope it doesn't disappoint some of you. It is not relaxation music. It is not for massage, nor is it music one would use to fall asleep every night. It is however, our pure artistic vision, undiluted, true to itself- and it still sounds like 2002!
