In under a year performing and recording as experimental pop duo Monarch, the two multi-instrumentalists and songwriters have established themselves as one of Baltimore's most promising bands to watch, City Paper calling them ''a rare indie rock two-piece that could pass for a trio or quartet when you close your eyes.'' Wongie's Music World said ''seemingly co-writing with ease, this multiple-instrumentalist young duo have the ability to make effortless gorgeous lush dreamy indie pop that evokes the good old days when a wall of guitars could put you in a happy pensive mood.'' After winning over crowds at every venue Baltimore had to offer for several months in 2007, the duo ventured out to hit audiences up and down the East Coast and Canada on a month-long tour, playing with the likes of Marnie Stern, Arbouretum, Beach House, Thrushes, Wax & Wane, and A Sunny Day in Glasgow. Written and performed entirely by the duo themselves, Monarch's 11 song full-length CD If Children was mixed and completed with the help of Home's Eric Morrisson.
