There was good reason to fear the worst: the stock market crash of October 1987, his first major crisis as Federal Reserve Chairman, coming just weeks after he assumed control, had come much closer than is even today generally known to freezing the financial system and triggering a genuine financial panic. But the most remarkable thing that happened to the economy after 9/11 was...nothing. What in an earlier day would have meant a crippling shock to the system was absorbed astonishingly quickly.

　　　　Alan Greenspan was born in I926 and reared in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City. After studying the clarinet at Juilliard and working as a professional musician, he earned his B.A., M.A.,and Ph. D. in economics from New york Univer-sity.In I954, he cofounded the economic consult-ing firom Townsend-Greenspan & Co. From I974 to I977,he served as chair of the Council of Eco-nomic Advisors under President Gerald Ford. In I987, President Ronald Reagan appointed him chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, a position he held until his retirement in 2006.

这本书，我等了很久了。。。还是没有中文版。。格林斯潘，这个人，我不需要用太好的词来形容他。因为熟悉他的人，都知道他的厉害。。。现在他自己出的一本书，那是他的精华所在啊！！期待中文版的出现，快快满足我这个格老的fans吧 ......

这本书很棒，正在看。我看的是台湾翻译的版本。我不知道标题是谁写的，不过您把英文书名的一个单词写错了： THE AGE OF TURBULENCE: Adventures in a New Word 台湾版本的中文书名是：《我们的新世界》翻译成《动荡的年代》，符合格老此书的叙述内容；不过“新世...... (2回应)

格林斯潘的书当然要看

这本书没出来我就开始关注了。amazon上的只有20刀，joyo盯着amazon.cn的名号竟然敢买266，最近好像降价到了252，nnd。一直都不想麻烦同学，可是没办法啊。等到拿到书再写吧。只是断断续续的听过朗读版，不过文件太大，也没太有时间听下去（一般都是睡前听，伴我进入梦乡，哈哈）。还是看书比较好啊。希望......
