The sound is spare, sharp, and soulful -- and the record's one of the first small combo bossa dates like this in the US -- a 1962 effort that even predates most of Verve's better known bossa jazz albums of the 60s, and which matches their groovy energy wonderfully. The record's quite an unusual one for Lewis, and it's further proof that the trio with Young and Holt was an incredibly dynamic outfit! Two tracks on the album -- "A Noite Do Meu Bem" and "Cara De Palhacao" -- feature vocals, by Carmen Costa and Josef Paulo, respectively -- and other tracks are all instrumental, and include "Samba De Orpheus", "O Pato", "Roda Moinho", "Roda Moinho", and "Cancao Para Geralda".
