This is an excellent sample of one of Billie's best phases, and the small groups that accompany her, assembled by Teddy Wilson, read like a roll call of the great players of the Swing Era. There are superb solos and accompaniments by the likes of Lester Young, Johnny Hodges, Benny Goodman, Roy Eldridge, and of course the wonderful, urbane pianism of Wilson himself. Matchless interpretations of great and not-so-great popular songs make for an unbeatable bargain and a brilliant introduction to the greatest of all jazz singers.

Carelessly
It's too hot for words
Nice work if you can get it
Moanin' low
How could you
If you were mine
Sun showers
That's life I guess
I cover the waterfront
What a night what a moon what a girl
Pennies from Heaven
What a little moonlight can do
My man
They say
You let me down
It's like reaching for the moon
Sunbonnet blue (and a yellow straw hat)
Miss Brown to you
