Oriental Jam is an alternativerock band from Jyväskylä, Finland. The band has been active since year 2002. Current lineup was formed in 2007 when singer-guitarist Simo Orpana found drummer Rasmus Kujala and bass player Tomi Tajakka. The lineup was completed in the year 2007 when Juha Tenhunen officially joined the band after performing in the band as a live guitarist for a year.

Oriental Jam has always been very focused and patient when it comes to developing their music as art. First official release was in the year 2005. Single "So lost" rose to the official singles chart #3 in Finland. First release for the current lineup was "Are we there yet" EP in the year 2007. Through the year 2008 Oriental Jam worked on their debut album "Celebration" with finnish musician/producer Timo Kämäräinen. First two singles from the album found their way to the charts also as "Money sadness" rose to the finnish download chart peaking #25 on week 7, 2009 and album title song "Celebration" rose to the download chart peaking #17 and to the official singles chart peaking #19 on week 20 2009. The album was released 16.5.2009 for free at the bands website. Reason for the free release being that the band wanted as many people as possible to hear their music.
Oriental Jam的下一张专辑将继续同参与他们处女专辑制作的Timo合作，这张名为《...100 ways..》的新专辑已经在录制当中，而她将使乐队在音乐造诣上更上一层。
Preproduction for the next album is already in progress and cooperation with Timo Kämäräinen will also continue. Theme and workname of the album is " ...100 ways...". It will take Oriental Jam artistically and musically to another higher level.
2009年十月，Oriental Jam将来到中国，这是他们的首次海外巡演。中国巡演将在北京、重庆、成都三地进行6场演出。10月17日在成都举行的《赈震友声 一人一本书 芬兰·四川 持续援建音乐节》是Oriental Jam本次中国行的主要目的。通过同众多音乐人的爱心义演，将用爱心凝聚的所有收益捐献给汶川地震的灾后重建。本次赈震友声音乐节的所有善款将为地震重灾区德阳市罗江县金山镇第一、第二小学，提供实实在在的帮助。
In October 2009 Oriental Jam will play their first gigs abroad as China tour 2009 takes place. Tour includes six gigs in three cities Beijing, Chengdu and Chongqing. The main event of this tour will be Rock Aid Sichuan charity concert in Chengdu 17.10.2009. Profits of this concert will be donated to the earthquake victims in Sichuan area in the year 2008.
