I have cherished this recording for decades. Compared to Weissenberg, among others, Gould's playing may not be "perfect", as I often heard from others, whatever that means. And yes, I admire Weissenberg greatly. But guess which is the record I play when I need to recover from malaise of all sorts?
Americans would say some food---usually not "perfect" nutritionally or even taste-wise---are their "comfort food". OK, this is my personal "comford music" then.
