Water is air for jacque, dolphins are his family, he finally quits the long excursion of human life-painful or beautiful- and goes down back home, at the bottom of the sea. He meets his mermaid there. He becomes one of them when he is with the dolphins. All the painful and glorious and beatiful and haunting experience of his life is about sea-that big beautiful horrible blue. So love it or fear it, he is bound to it.
When he is dying in bed, he sees the blue and the dolphins.pain eludes him in the big blue. So when he regains consciousness he runs for the sea, the beauty in real life becomes nothing without the big blue.
Life to us is like the sea to Jacque.we breathe in it, we suffocate in it. we are born in it and we die in it.
