　　几年前读过他的 哈尔盖仰望天空和一个人老了等几首。
　　
　　而今再读感觉到诗人大概是因翻译叶芝的原因，一些诗受 叶芝的影响，有点神秘主义的氛围，意象较西化。 叶芝的诗歌常出现天鹅的意象， 西川也有一首。笔下的天鹅都拥有超越时间的力量，代表舒缓的自在之美。

　　那闪耀于湖面的十二只天鹅
　　没有阴影
　　
　　那相互依恋的十二只天鹅
　　难于接近
　　
　　十二只天鹅——十二件乐器——
　　当它们鸣叫
　　
　　当它们挥舞银子般的翅膀
　　空气将它们庞大的身躯
　　托举
　　
　　一个时代退避一旁，连同它的
　　讥诮
　　
　　想一想，我与十二只天鹅
　　生活在同一座城市！
　　
　　那闪耀于湖面的十二只天鹅
　　使人肉跳心惊
　　
　　在水鸭子中间，它们保持着
　　纯洁的兽性
　　
　　水是它们的田亩
　　泡沫是它们的宝石
　　
　　一旦我们梦见那十二只天鹅
