Chinese orphanages are filled with perfectly wonderful infants and toddling Chinese girls abandoned by their parents. However, many of the Chinese infertile parents are unwilling to adopt the orphans
It’s a common phenomenon that some old couples lost their son or daughter in their later life, either due to a traffic accident, or due to some serious diseases, so they lost an important spiritual support from their offspring, which lead to loneliness. They feel at a loss and helpless, which lead them to the strong desire of adopting a child. And an orphan in the orphanage is a good choice. Another possibility is some young couples are infertile, they also desperately desire to have a child. They can take an orphan as their own blood baby and foster and educate it as their own, which helps them to build a complete and happy family
But the young infertile couples also have great concern, worrying that the orphans may be abandoned from their blood parents for some specific reasons, either with a mental retardation or some inherited diseases which will only be discovered when it grows up. They worry that adopting a problem baby may bring more trouble instead of happiness. 
The many orphans in orphanages demonstrats in some aspect that the moral quality of our citizens still needs to be improved. Firstly , the large percent of abandoned girl infants is not a coincidence, which shows in many areas, especially rural areas, there is still a strong discrimination against female, and such an ideology is deep-rooted in the mind of Chinese people, so we should popularize the knowledge of equality between men and women. Secondly, we should raise the public awareness, teaching them to learn to cherish and value the life. Abandoning an infant is a moral crime on the one hand and constitutes a burden to the whole society on the other. It’s also important that government takes active measures to choke off such phenomenons. It can issue explicit laws or regulations to ban such behaviors, either through a high fine or other severe punishments.  Last but not the least, the schools should also contribute to it by the strongest weapon of education. Everyone should be taught in the school to burden the responsibility, not only for the benefits of themselves, but also the entire society.

And more importantly, we should hold the basic shared values, that the differences between us is worthy of respect. I do believe, the 21st century will be the most peaceful prosperous and exciting time in human history , if we work together.
