Introduction:
Established in 2009 “Goa Productions” is a Psytrance music collective consisting of three people with a deep passion and enthusiasm for Psytrance music and culture. The name of the collective itself “Goa Productions” refers to the historical link Psytrance has with the small state of Goa that is halfway down India’s coastline. It was from this small Indian state in the early 90’s that Psytrance originally came from. Small outdoor free beach parties in Goa developed into the now worldwide underground music phenomenon of Psytrance. With parties taking place in countries all over the world in Brazil, England, Germany, Portugal, France, Bolivia, Japan, Russia, Israel, India, Thailand to just name a few Psytrance truly is the global underground dance music.
The aim of “Goa Productions” is to bring the music and vibe of Psytrance to Beijing by holding regular events that try to capture the spirit of a Psytrance party.
The origin of “Goa Productions” really starts with the arrival of DJ and producer Pete in Beijing. Wanting to promote Psytrance in China for the prestigious label TipWorld, of which he is UK label manager, Pete relocated to Beijing and got in touch with DJ Michael TipWorld’s representative DJ in Beijing. They also teamed up with DJ Gotama who had previously been Djing Psytrance in Beijing and formed the group “Goa Productions”. At present “Goa Productions” has established a monthly Psytrance night at club Obiwan in Beijing.
DJ Bios:
Michael –董(China)
Michael is the only native ‘beijinger’ Psytrance DJ in Beijing. He has been to Australia and Japan to study electronic music and also performed there. Since 2004 he has been focused more on composing and has gained favorable reception of his tracks from British and Australian Psytrance circles.
Also a VJ, Michael adds a visual element into his dj sets and simultaneously stimulates the eyes and ears of the dance-floor. This combination of music and visuals truly makes his sets unforgettable. Michael creates incredible images through using 3D and visual mixers, and his work is also used by other VJs and clubs, to further improve the quality of their DJ sets.
Michael has DJ’d &VJ’d at hundreds of clubs and events all over China including, Summer Breeze, VICS Club, AREA Club, IBIZA Club, Goose & Duck, ALFA，and China Doll.
Gotama (Belgium)
Gotama started his career as a dj after he first got in contact with goatrance music in the late nineties. He was blown away by the variety and richness of this new style of music after going to techno parties the years before. It did not take long before he started collecting this kind of music and shortly after, mixing them together.
Playing at parties all over Belgium, DJ Gotama soon built a solid reputation. He became resident dj of clubs like Kosmic and Tijuana; and later played at many large underground events such as Alice, Amon Horus, Rhakti Dei and so on. In the meantime Dj Gotama started his first organization called ‘Progressive Reaction’ with a friend, and since then organized regular parties in his hometown Gent.
After moving to Beijing, Dj Gotama could not let go of the goa vibe and started organizing parties under the name of ‘Beijing Underground’ in clubs like White Rabbit, The Boat, China Doll and others. It is his special feeling with the music that Dj Gotama can bring across to the people who seem unable to stop dancing until the doors close; leaving many people to go home with a big fat smile on their face.
Pete (UK)
Peter’s pursuit of music began very early on when he took up playing the cello at age three. This continued when he took up the piano at age six. Later his interest in electronic dance music developed and he undertook an HND in Music Technology in Manchester. Upon graduation he started working for the Psytrance record label Flying Rhino records in London where he DJ’d at several label parties alongside such Psytrance luminaries as James Monro, George Barker and Domonic Lamb. Then in the summer of 2002 he went on to work for Fire Recordings, where he worked alongside Cass Cutbush and Peter Martin of Cass & Slide fame. During this time he still continued to DJ regularly within the Psytrance scene playing in Manchester, London, Leeds and Bristol.
In the summer of 2003 he began to work for TipWorld and 10Kilo where for the past two years he has been the UK label manager. During his time at TipWorld Pete has DJ’d along side Raja Ram and Lucas at numerous TipWorld events. Known for his enthusiasm and creativeness behind the decks, Pete knows how to move a dance-floor. In the past year Pete has been focusing more and more on production, writing music himself which he incorporates into his sets and is currently working on a live set which he will debut in the near future. Now based in Beijing Pete is looking forward to promoting and playing Psytrance alongside DJ Michael and DJ Gotama in their new collaboration “Goa Productions”.

GOA Psytrance电子音乐团队成立于2009年，是由三个热爱Psytrance的年轻人组建的，他们分别来自中国 英国和比利时。GOA是印度的一个岛，在90年代出，一些音乐家，在户外的Party上开始演出雏形的Psytrance音乐，因为这个岛有很多的游客，大家把这种音乐带回了本国，经过许多音乐家的努力，慢慢的把这样的音乐演变成了今天的Psytrance电子舞曲。在巴西，英国，德国，葡萄牙，法国，玻利维亚，日本，俄国，以色列，印度，泰国都有一些很著名的Psytrance Party 。
GOA电子音乐团队每次都会为大家呈现最新的，和不一样的Psytrance音乐演出，让大家能充分感受到Psytrance电子舞曲的魅力。体会到Psytrance电子舞曲的气氛！
英国TipWorld唱片公司的经理PETE从伦敦来到北京，为了TipWorld能够在北京发展Psytrance，他联系到中国TipWorld北京联系代表Michael-董，他们与DJ Gotama一起创办了 GOA Psytrance 电子音乐团队。GOA电子音乐团队促进Psytrance文化在中国的发展，并且带来了最前沿的Psytrance音乐文化和潮流动态。每个月 GOA 都会有关于Psytrance的音乐演出。与GOA一起合作的酒吧是在北京西海附近的Obiwan俱乐部。在那里你可以听到不同种类的Psytrance音乐，也能感受到Psytrance文化气氛！

Michael-董 是TipWorld唱片公司北京代表，北京少有的Psytrance DJ。 游历澳洲和日本学习电子音乐并演出！2004年以后注重于音乐创作，制作部分单曲和混音版单曲受到英国及澳洲DJ们的一致好评。他的音乐低音强悍，注重旋律和空间的营造，跳跃的节凑和重叠的旋律，加上特效音色的现场变化，根本让人无法抗拒，把Psytrance的奢华和糜烂发挥到极点。除此以外Michael-董 2005年开始在自己的DJ现场中，加入了视频表演，能让大家在欣赏音乐的同时一起欣赏到他制作的视频作品。运用3D视频效果器，为大家呈现出美伦美幻的视频影像效果。提高了演出的质量和品质！

来自比利时的Gotama是北京‘Beijing Underground’的发起人，他在90年代出知道Goatrance并且开始常识做Goatrance DJ。他参加过许多Techno活动，初次听到Goatrance时，他的脑子疯了。他开始收集这些让他疯狂的音乐，并且练习混音技术。在比利时Dj Gotama 带着自己喜欢的Goatrance音乐，为大家呈现了无数场精彩的表演，在比利时他是不可或缺的Goatrance DJ。比利时的Kosmic 和 Tijuana俱乐部他当之无愧的成为那里的音乐领军人物。当然在 Alice， Amon-Horus ，Rhakti-Dei， 都有他出色的表演。同时Dj Gotama与他的朋友也开始组建了，他在比利时的第一个团队Progressive Reaction，在比利时的Gent几乎年轻人都知道这个音乐团队。Dj Gotama从比利时来到中国继续着他的音乐之路，在北京创办了 Beijing Underground DJ团队，在北京White Rabbit, The Boat, China Doll都留下了他的身影。Dj Gotama的演出现场能让你感觉到他与音乐的完美组合，从音乐开始到音乐结束，每个人都能体验到他的Goatrance的魅力。当你离开的时候，你的脸上会带着满意的微笑。
Pete (UK) 英国
PETE出生在英国伦敦，自幼学习钢琴和大提琴，十几岁的PETE对当时的电子音乐极为有兴趣，20岁的PETE在曼彻斯特HND学校成功的拿到了Music Technology文凭，毕业后就加入了Flying Rhino records唱片公司，从此他开始了自己的音乐生涯，PETE那时就已经开始与非常著名的Psytrance音乐家一起演出，其中包括James Monro， George Barker， Domonic Lamb 。2002年夏天开始，他又加入了Fire Recordings唱片公司，与Cass & Slide（Cass Cutbush 和 Peter Martin）一起合作。同时在伦敦 曼彻斯特 利兹 布里斯托尔，都有过他的Psytrance精彩表演。Psyscape, Sunrise, Ashtanga, System One Brave New World.这些大型活动中都有PETE的名字。2003年他在TipWorld和10Kilo，唱片公司工作，现在已经是TipWorld唱片公司的经理。他与Raja Ram 和Lucas一起参与了 Stratford Rex大型活动。几乎 TipWorld的音乐活动都有他的精彩表演。他的表演会让听众无法控制身体，不停的跳舞。近些年他开始创作自己的Psytrance音乐，并且运用到各种Psytrance活动中。他不仅仅是DJ表演，也可以用电脑和很多效果器，为大家呈现现场Psytrance音乐。PETE从伦敦来到北京和其他GOA成员一起，在北京发展Psytrance音乐。也想让更多人知道Psytrance文化。
