Comedy Central's new creation and definitely the best so far, animation series Ugly Americans premiered on March 17, 2010 earning a shocking near 2.1 million viewership and Hiroshima-ed the central nervous system of comedy with its ultra-intelligent and crafty application of post-modernistic De-constructional technique. (And this just came in the right time when you just had enough of one-liners and cut-aways or even the constructional , if you catch my drift)

Set in the New York City of an alternate universe which tolerates the co-existence of monsters and other creatures socially, under some undisclosed form of governance. The show centers around the life of Mark Lilly, the social worker at the New York Department of Integration and the people he comes across on a daily basis: his human/zombie roommate Randall Skeffington, whom has a longing crave for Mark's brain (literally); his demon supervisor at the office and fling-turned-'on-and off'-girlfriend Callie Maggotbone; co-worker wizard Leonard Powers; demonically bureaucrat boss/romantic interest rival Twayne Boneraper and law-enforcement loon Frank Grimes.

The main storyline follows Mark as he carried out his social integrating routine under the frustration after his demonic boss Twayne downsized the social services to only two people. Each episode so far seems to be parodying a special case of popular culture (Sopranos, the Twilight trilogy. etc) ,and opens up to a hysterical view of society, and the social life dwelled within it.

Former Simpsons writer David M Stern based the show on the idea of Devin Clark, creator of web anime-series 5ON, and godgivenly turned it into a real laughter matrix, it's neat and wit, raise arm and shoot, flashy and forward.With no established styles or any good-old what-have-yous, the logic of the universe and its alienated/self-opposing exposure of human society provides another camera of looking at 'this' life and its prematurely collapsing culture. If there is one single parody of our ridiculously sorrowful life in this show, the joke is on us.

Ugly Americans is one true original and intelligently creative piece of art, and will surely see itself on top of the game very soon.
