Typography (Etymology: typos—type, graphos—written) is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading (line spacing), adjusting the spaces between groups of letters (tracking) and adjusting the space between pairs of letters (kerning).

Typography 是一门字体排布，字体设计和符号调整的技艺。应用多种插画技术，字体符号被创造并修正了出来。字体的安排涉及了：字型、磅重、行长、行距的选择，字母间距的调整以及字偶间距的调整。

International Typographic Style
国际主义排版风格

The International Typographic Style, also known as the Swiss Style, is a graphic design style developed in Switzerland in the 1950s that emphasizes cleanliness, readability and objectivity. Hallmarks of the style are asymmetric layouts, use of a grid, sans-serif typefaces like Akzidenz Grotesk, and flush left, ragged right text. The style is also associated with a preference for photography in place of illustrations or drawings. Many of the early International Typographic Style works featured typography as a primary design element in addition to its use in text, and it is for this that the style is named.

国际主义排版风格，又被称为瑞士风格，是于50年代瑞士兴起的，强调简洁、可读性和客观性的平面设计风格。此风格特征有：非对称的版式，网格系统与无衬线字体（如Akzidenz Grotestk）的使用，整齐的左侧布局与右侧变化多样的文字。

此风格偏爱使用照片来代替插图。 很多早期国际主义排版风格的作品将typography视为除其在文字上的应用之外的首要元素，这也是此风格被冠以此名的原因所在。
