请问，例如

是翻译成（1）“19世纪末20世纪初”，还是（2）“20世纪之初”或（3）“进入20世纪”？

我在网上查了一下（词典查不到），有

at the turn of the century 在前后两世纪交接的时期
at the turn of the century 在世纪的转折点，在新世纪将来之际
例句：Queen Victoria died at the turn of the century.
维多利亚女皇在世纪之交去世了。

则意思为“世纪之交的时期”。

不过该网上又有：

一般我都是翻译成“世纪之交”，除非发现这样的表达有严重问题。
