1 亚洲只是比美国更严重(more painful)，没有“最”的意思

2 immediate predecessors中immediate指“紧挨着”，翻译成“上一任”更准确。因为前任可以是隔很多年的。 “C以及C的权力”，似乎原文没有权力的意思。powell和rice受白宫强硬外交政策的束缚即可

3 humanitarian nightmare 不是人权。是“人道主义噩梦”
