导演自述：

这部电影名义上是为了纪念法国戏剧家阿尔弗莱德．雅里逝世一百周年拍的，我觉得100
年对于逝去的人来说，是重返人间的日子。因此，不管村子里谁死了，只要够一百年，我们就要纪念他，而不管他的阶级成份如何，到底是雇农贫农，还是地富反坏右。

拍这种戏挑选演员就是赌博，如果职业演员，他们会很到位，很节省时间，但我怕精神气质不像。可这些非职业演员，精神气质像，但一帮朋友不好管理。我赌的是后者．这么觉得更好。纪念雅里那部分，相当于拉屎，狗子这帮人相当于放屁。拉屎是去厕所的题中应有之意，而放屁算是神来之笔。

过去我们觉得看不到底就觉得绝望，绝望了就会早早了断自己。但现在是看到生活的底了，就会从容地面对它。人有时候是很绝望很恐惧，生活的隧道没有出口，既无光亮也看不到出口。但绝望和虚无有区别，所以虽然这部电影厌世，但不绝望。我们对生活都有很清醒的认识，我们活着的唯一目的，就是看自己的想法在生活中一步步得到验证。

放映结束后，导演张弛特意从北京赴上海与观众见面，研讨！

The account in director's own words:

Nominally, the film is to commemorate the centenary of the death of French
dramatist Alfred Jarry. I consider the 100th year as the time for those who
have passed away to come back to man's world. Therefore, no matter who has
been dead in our village as long as for 100 years, we will commemorate him,
regardless of his class status – whether he was a hired hand, a poor farmer,
or a landlord, a rich peasant, an anti-revolutionary, a bad member, a
rightist.

The selection of actors and actresses for such a movie is a gamble.
Professional performers will be in place and save my time, but I fear that
their spirits and temperaments will fail to fit for the characters;
non-profeesional performers' disposition may be in proportion, but managing
a crowd of friends is a hard nut. Finally, I bet on the latter one which I
considered to be better. The part to commemorate Jarry can be compared to be
shit, while guys like Gouzi be fart. Shit is a necessity in the theme of
going to the toilet, while fart is something comes from ingenious
inspiration.

In the past, we felt desperate and thus end ourselves when we cannot see the
end of life. But now once we see the end we will face it composedly.
Sometimes, people are inclined to be rather desperate and terrified since
life is a tunnel without light or exit. However, there are differences
between despair and emptiness. This film is world-weary but not desperate.
We all have clear understanding of life: the sole aim of our existence is to
see our own ideas being tested and verified step by step in life.

At the end of the film, director Zhang Chi will come here from Beijing
specially to meet the audience and have a discussion!
