  Annexe 1: Introduction to Organizers
QDLUG (Qingdao Linux User Group: http://www.qingdaolug.org/) was launched in August 2007 with the help of BLUG(Beijing Linux User Group: http://www.beijinglug.org/). It is an open-for-all non-profit organization promoting and supporting the GNU/Linux community in Qingdao. The objectives are to publicize UNIX, Free and Open Source Software, GNU/Linux, etc. QDLUG aims to provide such a platform for UNIX/Linux hobbies in Qingdao to communicate and learn from each other. Over one year, QDLUG has created a mailing-list (qdlug@googlegroups.com) and hosted the website: http://www.qingdaolug.org/. QDLUG also attended the 2008 Linux Developer Symposium in Beijing and get in touch with companies such as Red Hat and Red Flag, and open source celebrities like Andrew Morton and Jim Zemlin. Each company and celebrity has taught us one thing: the open source movement in China is more a matter of business than a matter of passion.
OSQDU (OpenSource Qingdao University) is an unofficial open-source interest group in Qingdao University. It was launched in May 2008 and aimed at the promotion and application of Linux, Solaris as well as other open source software. OSQDU devoted itself to publicize Ubuntu OS in the education of university and apply the open-source webserver in the network of university after establishment. OSQDU also participated and maintained several projects as follows:
to make good use of obsolete servers as well as save money, OSQDU have successfully migrated DNS server to obsolete Solaris (sparc).
to guarantee OA running well in Qingdao University, OSQDU have participated to upgrade and maintain the hardware and operating system of OA servers.
to save money for database service, OSQDU have successfully installed and maintained the database server of Web Learning Platform in Qingdao University.
to study and publicize the managing advantages of Debian GNU/Linux and save the cost for software of network traffic monitor, OSQDU is working for collecting the network traffic information and logs using free software.
