everything is perfect. Ford School of Public Policy University of Michigan an emergent and embarrasing situation of your faithful applicant Dear Administration Officer, Thank you for reading this email. My name is Yunzhen Zhang, an applicant to your 2013 fall MPP program. Five days earlier, I received an admission letter of this MPP program from the Ford School of Public Policy admission office. You couldn’t imagine how ecstatic I was when I received that admission letter. However, this morning, curiously enough, about ten hours ago, I received an email from Ford School saying that your school had sent me the wrong letter earlier and waitlisted me for your MPA program, which, to my surprise, I didn’t apply for in the first place. I was more than upset to hear that. I am despairing. I applied for several American universities and U-Michigan has long been my dream school with its strong academic background, time-honored education history and high reputation in the world. The courses offered by your MPP program are impressive and relevant to the field I want to study in. I’m crazy about the experience at your school! Therefore, soon after I received the admission letter from the Ford School of Public Policy, I refused my all other offers to make rooms for other applicants. (One of my refuse letter) What's more, I have been working in the ****************** Association, affiliated to the *******************. I once worked as an intern in this Association when I was still a university student. It is really a competitive process as only one of the four interns was given a full-time job offer. My supervisor was very happy about my performance during my internship and invited me to work as his secretary to help him deal with some administration work. He has taught me a lot and given me selfless support when I told him that I want to pursuit a MPP program in America, even though it may bring some inconvenience to him. Just the day after I received the admission letter from your school (last Friday), I submitted my formal resignation to the Association, and yesterday the Association official approved my requirement and informed me to hand over all my current work within three months. Now I feel hopeless and really do not know what to do next. Last weekend, I also registered in the BBS http://aabbs.us/forum.php (picture below) and reserved an apartment in Ann Arbor. I really have done a lot of preparation work. I know it is hard for your school to make a final decision as the candidates are all very competitive and the class size is limited. But I do really hope that you can reconsider my embarrassing situation and give me a chance to study in U-Michigan. In the last five days, many things have changed for me and now I feel hopeless and have no idea about how to explain this situation to my parents and friends. I sincerely appreciate it if you can give me the chance. Looking forward to your reply. Wish you all the best! Dear Yunzhen, I want to reiterate how very sorry we are for this error. Given your situation, let us look at our numbers and see what we are able to do. We certainly understand your concern. We will be in touch, Beth 楼主琢磨了半天,觉得这句话像是什么都没说,very sorry! 继续argue!! what if I committed a suicide and leave a message to my parents saying I am very sorry???!!! what can those two words make up for the rest of their life???!!! what does "this error" means?? Dear Yunzhen, In 1975, President Ford told the international group that would eventually sign the Helsinki Accords that history would judge us "not by the promises we make, but by the promises we keep." Last week, we sent you a letter saying you'd been admitted to the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Yesterday--after you'd proudly shared the good news with friends and family and, perhaps, turned down other offers--we emailed you saying that you were instead on our wait-list for admission. I apologize for our mistake. As dean, I'm writing to assure you that in the spirit of our namesake president, the Ford School keeps its promises: we honor our acceptance of you into our class of masters' students. I very much hope to welcome you to our community this fall. If you join us, I know that you'll find a hard-working, warm, committed group of students, faculty, and staff--that's my promise! Please do not hesitate to call or write our Admissions Director with any questions: Beth Soboleski,*****@umich.edu or ************. Best regards, Susan M.
