以下几个问题出自Harlan Ellison的《The Beast That Shouted Love At The Heart Of The World》：
1、In Indonesia they have a phrase for it: Djam Karet—the hour that stretches.
the hour that stretches该如何解读？上下文里的意思好像也挺隐晦的。维基百科上对Djam karet的解释是elastic time，urbandic上的解释是rubber time，好像很难找到合适的中文概念与之对应啊。
2、On the hushed shores of a thought, the papyrus man was carried in the arms of his friend……
On the hushed shores of a thought是什么意思？

hushed shores貌似见过，大意是“沉睡的海滩”，夜阑人静大海波澜不惊的那种感觉吧。这里是比喻思想的停滞么？
我觉得我好久没看懂过Harlan Ellison了……T_T
