2009年最受欢迎的电子乐队Mooderat是由两个最著名的德国电子音乐家：Modeselektor和Sascha Ring (a.k.a. Aparat)合作组建的。2002年，由厂牌BpitchControl牵线，他们首次合作录制了几首音乐，随后就开始分头准备他们的第一张专辑。

Modeselktor一直忙于制作他们的首张专辑，其中邀请到了来自Radiohead的Tom Yorke，Puppetmastaz和Maximo Park等人献省。之后就跟着Radiohead前往日本巡演。
Aparat则一直在BPitchControl，和BPitchControl的创立者Ellen Alien一起工作，并在2007年成为了这个时代最优秀的电子艺人，声名远播。

2009年，两人再次走到一起开始筹备Moderat的第一张专辑，并获得了巨大成功。同时，他们再次作为Readiohead的某国际音乐节的开场嘉宾，上演了精彩的视频和视觉灯光秀，之后很快成各大新闻媒体的头条。他们的现场演出可以说是一场视听盛宴，每一个视频都出自于世界上最好的VJ Pfadfinderei之手，而他们的单曲New Error，则被Pitchfork评为2009年最佳电子音乐。


Critically the most acclaimed electronica bands of 2009, Moderat is the project of two of the best-known names in German Electronica, Modeselektor and Sascha Ring (a.k.a. Aparat). They first met and collaborated in 2002 for a track for Germany’s BpitchControl label. Shortly after their first recording, the band split to work on their début albums.

Modeselktor was busy with their incredible successful 2nd album that included the voices of Tom Yorke (of Radiohead), Puppetmastaz, and Maximo Park to name a few, then proceeded to open for Radiohead throughout their Japan tour.

Aparat worked with BPitchControl founder Ellen Alien, releasing walls in 2007 to international success cementing his name as one of the best electronica producers of his generation.

In 2009, Modeselktor and Sascha Ring rejoined to create their first album together as Moderat and along with a revolutionary animation and visual light show quickly became headliners at international Festivals including Mutek and Melt while opening again for Radiohead. Their music and show is a audio-visual declaration, pared with revolutionary visuals from one of the world’s best VJs, Pfadfinderei. On the music side, their single “New Error” was named by Pitchfork as the best electronica song of 2009.
