【什么是公平贸易？】

公平貿易 是一種有組織的社會運動，在貼有公平交易標籤及其相關產品之中，它提倡一種關於全球勞工、環保及社會政策的公平性標準，其產品從手工藝品到農產品不足而一，這個運動特別關注那些自開發中國家銷售到己開發國家的外銷。
公平交易運動，試圖透過與被邊緣化的生產者及勞工的緊密合作，將他們從易受傷的角色，轉化成為經濟上的自給自足與安全，它也試圖賦權他們，使他們成為其自己組織的利害關係人，同時在全球市場中扮演更積極的角色，以促進國際貿易的公平性。
公平交易運動的組成份子，包括了範圍廣泛的一些國際宗教、發展援助、社會及環境組織，像是樂施會、國際特赦組織或天主教國際明愛會（Caritas International）等等。
在2005年，全世界公平交易的銷售約為十一億英鎊，每年約成長37%[1]。雖不到全球實體商品的百分之一[2] ，但公平交易的商品約佔北美及歐洲市場的0.5%到5%[3]，全球有超過一百五十萬人的弱勢生產者直接受益於公平交易運動，同時另外有五百萬人受益於公平交易所資助的基礎建設及社區發展計劃。

【理念策略】
Fair Trade's strategic intent is to work with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move towards economic self-sufficiency and stability. It also aims to allow them to become greater stakeholders in their own organizations, as well as play a wider role in international trade. Fair Trade proponents include a number of international development aid, social, religious and environmental organizations such as Christian Aid, SERRV International, Oxfam, Amnesty International, Catholic Relief Services, and Caritas International.

【今日的公平貿易：】
過去十年，全球公平貿易的銷售量大幅增加，特別是貼有公平貿易標籤的商品，其銷售量的增加更為顯著。在2005年，全球銷售量約11億英鎊，每年約以37%的速度成長[13]，2006年十月，FLO認證了58個發展中國家的586個生產組織，其中超過150個組織並在IFAT（International Fair Trade Association）註冊。

Wal-Mart has launched six new coffees under its exclusive Sam's Choice brand. The new coffees include Organic, Fair Trade Certified and Rain Forest Alliance Certified blends. The new Sam's Choice brand coffees hit store shelves earlier this month and are part of an Earth Month expansion of eco-friendly products at Wal-Mart that help consumers live better without compromising budget.

The initial Sam's Choice gourmet coffees include Fair Trade Certified ™ House Blend, Espresso Roast and French Roast; Rainforest Alliance™ Certified Breakfast Blend whole bean and ground coffee; and USDA Organic, Swiss Water® Process Decaffeinated.

All Sam's Choice coffees are 100 percent Arabica beans.

In addition, the six Sam's Choice gourmet coffees are roasted by Café Bom Dia, a Brazil-based company that measured, reduced and offset its emissions to become the world's first CarbonNeutral roaster.


The coffee blends will sell for $5.88 for 10-12 oz. bags and are initially available at Wal-Mart Supercenter stores. The coffees will be available at all Wal-Mart stores by the end of month.


【中国有没有Fair Trade？】

据本人调查，目前似乎还没有。中国在fairtrade链中，应当属于生产国，即其生产者生活水平收入及公平事宜需要提高并受到保护，同时环境可持续性需要保护的国家。但是中国的农民，手工生产者目前并没有得到类似fairtrade理念的保护。

中国目前有一家，位于北京的“中扶利民”机构正在做准Fairtrade的贸易，其组织农民工留守家庭的妇女生产手工艺品，然后直销至国外消费市场，给予当地妇女生活收入的提高。但是由于其关注范围和透明程度问题，目前仍未获得fair trade 的标志认证。
