Mütter Museum

The College of Physicians of Philadelphia's Mütter Museum was founded in 1858.
The collection boasts over 20,000 unforgettable objects, including fluid-preserved anatomical and pathological specimens;
skeletal and dried specimens; medical instruments and apparati;
anatomical and pathological models in plaster, wax, papier-mache, and plastic;
memorabilia of famous scientists and physicians; medical illustrations, photographs, prints, and portraits.

The Mütter Museum is located at 19 South 22nd St. in Center City Philadelphia, between Market and Chestnut Streets. The Museum is a few blocks from 30th Street Station, and less than a block from SEPTA bus and trolley lines.

19世纪的Thomas Dent Mütter博士是此医学博物馆的创始人，现在由美国费城医学院（College of Physicians of Philadelphia）管理。介绍此博物馆的画册封面上有一个人名，Gretchen Worden，但她不是画册的作者（实际上此画册是由16个摄影师的作品组成）。Gretchen用我们的话说，“该女士是对Mutter Museum有突出贡献的人士。”她从博物馆长助理做起一直工作了27年到死。她把她所有的精力和心血都放在了这家博物馆和很多人都不能理解或者感到恐惧的物品中。

在可能是Gretchen接待的人中，有个人回来写了一首歌，叫“午夜参观Mutter博物馆”（Midnight Service at the Mutter Museum），歌词里面有相当温暖的几句：
